Miracles do happen - June 21st about 8:20 am at Franklin Bridge Golf Course. It was in our Senior League and the weather was a near ideal 70 degrees as the sun had broken thru a somewhat calm, overcast day (omen?). The par 3 14th was playing 145 yards with a center pin location. Having just made a 3 putt bogey on #13 (my first hole of the day as we use a shotgun start), I was “steaming” and eager to get a good vibe to take me thru the day. The distance played perfectly for my 26 degree 5 hybrid so I teed up my "go to" Yellow Titleist TourSoft and proceeded to make an unusually good swing. The ball took off with a sound that told this 75 year old that it was a well struck ball. As it soared up I could see that it should result in a shot close to the pin and watched as I hoped for a SKIN to seal the deal - and boy, did it! The ball hit the front third of the green and rolled (as time slowed) into the hole, all while my playing partners kept urging on my first hole in one. While the rest of the round was a blur, there was one moment to remember. May the Force be with you as you pursue your “miracle” whether in golf or other of life's opportunities.
