  1. It's middle of March and the temperature in Wisconsin has an unusual spike from 35 degrees on Monday to 65 degrees on Tuesday. You give into pier pressure and call in sick for work and meet your friends out on one of the few courses that decided to open up for the day. The winds are 10-15 miles/ hour and since its your first time back out in months there is a good amount of rust that needs to be shaken out. I find myself on a 160 yard par 3 directly into the wind. I club up to a 7 iron, take a couple of practice swings and watch my friend (a true +4 handicap) stick it to about 2 feet right of the hole. I hit my 7 iron pure, and can see that its heading directly at the hole, but am almost positive that the wind will keep it from even reaching the green. Then my group and I heard a loud thud and see the flagstick moving even more severely than it was from the gusts of wind. My initial thought was I hit the flag and its now off the green. We head straight to the green and my brother (who's much younger and much faster) looks in the hole and falls over yelling "HOLY *** ITS IN!!!" I was in complete shock, so much so my friends still laugh about how I showed almost no emotion. The shock lasted through the last two holes because I tripled the following par 5 and doubled on 18. Decided I couldnt tell my coworkers about the hole in one until after the weekend, luckily the warm weather lasted until Saturday. We had two more decent snowfalls shortly after.
