The 8th hole at Mesquite was, at that day playing, 143 yards. Sunny day with no wind. The pin was position behind the front bunker as only the top 3/4 of the flag stick was visible. As I hit my wedge, I new I achieved good contact and watched the flight of the ball fling high with a slight draw. I saw the ball bounce left on the green and then beyond my sight. As I drove up to the green from the left side, I was surprised to see there was no ball within proximity of the hole. After searching beyond the green with no success, I check the hole and to my surprise, there was my Titlest 1. As I bent over to pick up the ball, a couple that had been watching golfers coming by, began to clap and congratulated me on what that witnessed. Not having said a word until I reached for my ball was a bit different but effective.
