On 3/07/2025, I was at the Fort Myers Country Club in Fort Myers, Florida I was a single golfer that day.
When I arrived, they sent me out with the 11 AM group which were all strangers to me, and they were all Members!
At the turn, on the 10th hole, there was a wait/tie up going on because of the club house bar/ restaurant, and rest rooms. All overlook the 10th hole. Most people run in and grab a dog and beer, and it was a Friday afternoon and the place was packed!! It seemed like there was a 15-to-20-minute delay before our 4 some could start to hit again. Hole #10 is a par 3, 194 yards. I used a 3 wood.
I was the last to hit out of my group. When I hit the ball, it felt really good, and then several people around me started to yell, this is going right at the flag! It hit the base of an elevated green and ran up the hill!
Because it was 194 yards, and we couldn't see the base of the flag, we could not confirm that it went in immediately. As we quickly approached the hole, we all started looking to our lefts and rights to make sure it didn't roll off the back or sides of the green.
When I ran over and finally looked in the hole, there was my Titleist Ball.
The three golfers turned toward the packed bar and restaurant and started screaming up and down and jumping it's in the hole!!!, it's in the hole!!!
There are several witnesses! I had to buy drinks at the end of the match, good thing, we are all older than 65 and it was very hot out, otherwise it would have cost me several hundred dollars for rounds for the amount of people that were there.
