Here we go. The PGA Tour is going to give $40 million to Tiger, Phil and Rickie and others who don't need a dime more than they're making now. Last year the PGA Tour laid off 50 staffers, but they have money to spend on this. I should think that the Tour could find a better use for this money than to fatten the wallets of those who don't need it.

I believe the PGA Tour knows what they need to do to retain "talent" and that's the operative word, "talent." Talent doesn't necessarily translate as tournament wins or "Top 10's".

I believe that's why talk of the Premier Golf League got attention...the PGA Tour wants to keep their talent in their tour. It reminds me of the days when Greg Norman talked about a putting together a World Golf Tour which would have featured the "top players" competing for big money with no cut. We know how that all turned out...WGC.

A beauty contest. If anything this might turn some people off the PGA tour players. In today’s economic situation they have people on different tours struggling to survive and yet 10 multi millionaire getting more money.

Easy to say they get paid to much or they all make money but you are worth as much as someone is willing to pay you. I dont have a problem with it, this is the world we live in. Guys like Tiger Woods, Rory, DJ or Bryson, etc., they are driving the impressions on television and social media. Someone is making money off that, some company is profiting somewhere. Probably more than 1! The fact is that social media is big business and its only going to get bigger. We as ppl need to understand that a 14 year old kid can make thousands of dollars online these days.

If some popular golf stars can make some money through PIP, i said good for them and for the tour for making it available. It won't be the last sport to do something like this!

Team, I am not a fan of this. Listening to A New Breed of Golf, and was hearing I would rather see them take that money or part of and pay the players a minimal amount for players that miss the cut to cover some of their expenses I feel would be a better way to spend $$$...

I doubt $4 million a man is going to entice the top players to do anything. Some of the formats suggested are more like a member guest than a real tournament, and there are already best of the best stops on the PGA tour.

Pick 400 muni and public courses nationwide. Give them $100K for some new equipment. Or just give them the PGA lightly used equipment. That would be a bigger impact for the future of golf!
