The 2021-2022 PGA TOUR Season is underway and the recent Korn Ferry Tour graduates aren’t wasting any time in making their presence known on TOUR and Team Titleist is well represented (to say the least) in this group of rookies and recent grads. Look no further back than last week at the Sanderson Farms Championship where Will Zalatoris broke the course record, posting a 61 in the second round, and the final leaderboard featured seven Titleist ball players in the Top-10 (and ties) including Cameron Young (T2), Hayden Buckley (T4) and Sahith Theegala (T8).
In fact, six Titleist Brand Ambassadors (Davis Riley, Will Zalatoris, Lee Hodges, Brandon Wu, Cameron Young, Nick Hardy) along with 16 of the 25 grads are trusting a Titleist Pro V1, Pro V1x or Pro V1x Left Dash golf ball including:
Stephan Jaeger (Pro V1), Mito Pereira (Pro V1), Taylor Moore (Pro V1), Greyson Sigg (Pro V1), Davis Riley (Pro V1), Will Zalatoris (Pro V1), Lee Hodges (Pro V1x), David Lipsky (Pro V1x Left Dash), Brandon Wu (Pro V1), Paul Barjon (Pro V1x), Seth Reeves (Pro V1), Cameron Young (Pro V1), Nick Hardy (Pro V1x), Curtis Thompson (Pro V1x), David Skinns (Pro V1x) and Ben Kohles (Pro V1x Left Dash).
We recently caught up with a few of these players to get some insight into their games, what Titleist equipment they have in the bag, how they mark their golf balls and what they’re looking forward to on the PGA TOUR – and in case you missed any of it, we’ve put a little mix of the content below for you to enjoy. So, check it out!
It’s no secret that Titleist Brand Ambassador Cameron Young will be a force to be reckoned with on the PGA Tour. After a breakout season on the Korn Ferry Tour this past year, Young inked two victories (back-to-back, nonetheless) to finish 17th on the season long points list to earn his spot as a PGA Tour rookie this season. A true underdog story – he started last year’s Korn Ferry Tour season with no status and carded a T2 finish last week at The Sanderson Farms Championship in just his second start as a PGA Tour member.
See what he’s got in the bag this week at TPC Summerlin. Note: Since catching up with Cam earlier this summer at the U.S. Open, he’s since added a new T200 4-iron to his setup.
Also starting his season out strong is Titleist Brand Ambassador Hayden Buckley, who finished T4 last week in his home state of Mississippi in his second start as a PGA Tour member. We touched base with Hayden earlier last month at the Fortinet Championship to see what he’s got in his bag – including a look at how he marks his Pro V1, T100/T100·S combo set and his Xbox live name that you can find stamped on his Vokey Design Wedges.
If you peered at the leaderboard at all last week during the Sanderson Farms Championship, you’d notice the name of Pro V1 loyalist Sahith Theegala in and around the top. In his second start as a PGA Tour member, he held at least a share of the lead throughout the first three rounds – eventually earning himself a top-10 finish to bypass this week’s Monday qualifier in Vegas and gain entry into the Shriner’s Open.
Get to know Sahith and hear more on why Pro V1 is the right ball for his game.
