While visiting my neurosurgeon on Thursday, after giving me the good news, we were a discussion more of a personal nature. Doc was telling me that his daughter had taken up golf and that she was very new to the game her knowledge of who, what, where and why was very limited. He lives on the Isle of Palms and plays golf at Wild Dunes. She was playing alone at the course one day and the groups in front of her were seemly very slow. Not unusual, in that, a lot of tourists do honor us with their presence on the Isle of Palms. After all, our number industry. She was on the tee box waiting for the group in front of her and another single golfer approached her and they agreed to join up. She explained that she had just started playing and was not a good golfer. He said not too worry he was there to enjoy himself, they teed off and away they went. His drive went well over 300 yards, down the middle with his second shot landing two feet from the pin for a kick in birdie. She introduced herself and he him awed around kiddingly with a number of names and admitted that he played on the tour and finally told her his name. Being new to golf she had no idea who he was. So no autograph seeker or someone who was looking to have their picture made with him. They had an enjoyable remaining round. Hopefully he has a good recovery from his back issues and can win the tournament in Maui and congratulations on his recent marriage. I thought it was an interesting story. The Doc and were in agreement that most likely that if it had been someone like us we would have been awe struck and had way too many questions, but to his daughter, who has little knowledge of golf, she made it a pleasant day by the ocean and golf. Best of luck Will Zalatoris and hope you enjoyed your visit to the Charleston area. Hakuna matata.
