    i was thinking of changing the matador grip on my futura x5 fro a standard pistelero grip, would the lighter grip have any adverse effects on the performance of the putter?

    my guess is it would just make the head of the putter feel a bit heavier.

    I have the Futura X and the head feels heavy to begin with. Mine now has a Flatso1.0 grip. Personally, I wouldn't worry too much about if the grip will make the club feel heavier. the main ingredient with putting it to make sure the putter feels good to you. Steve

    I just got my Futura X5 Monday and WOW!!! I have always been a blade guy for the last 10 years all Scotty's and this is by far the best over all putter I found. I still love the Select Newport and almost got that one but the FuturaX5 is just way to consitant and what I like is  the stroke can be a little off and the putter helps to fix it. As far as the grip I have always had the Scotty cord grip or if I changed the cord is always what I went back to. This new grip took a little time  to get used to put its not to heavy and you can actually feel the head during the stroke. All I can say is WOW  very very well done Scotty !!!!!!!!!!.

    Thank you for all the replies taking it to my pro shop to change the grip this weekend ,
