Firstly, i became a new member to the #TeamTitleist family with purchasing the new 716 AP1 irons. I had a big break up and i do not believe i will ever go back to TM. lol My mentality is if my bag is full of Titleist clubs, why not finish it off with a Scotty putter? So this is where i come to you knowledgeable Titleist guys...  Any recommendations on putters? where would i find upcoming information on special edition putters, or special edition limited release putters?

thank you to everyone's input before hand!

  2. Chitty, first welcome to the community!

Second, there are many great SC Putters to choose from however unlike irons there is a lot of personal preference involved in choosing a putter.  I would say there are three models to consider, Newport 1.5 (flared neck), Newport 2 (plumbers neck), Golo 3 or 6 (difference is head size) and lastly the new Futura X7m.  You should be able to find these  at your local Golf Galaxy or PGA SuperStore however if you need more help you may wish to take a trip to Scotty's Gallery and Fitting Studio in Encinita's California for the ultimate in a fitting experience!

Obviously there are many other heads to choose from however I have supplied a few different models with varying characteristics how they perform (toe flow, feel, etc...).

Good Luck and Welcome To The Community!

i want to thank you for the advice, Chris. ill have to try and take a trip to Golf Galaxy here in the next few weeks. I wish they would have a fitting experience in Mrytle Beach,  my friends and I are taking our 2nd trip down in a few months.

    Brandon,

Try going to the SC website and search his showcase partners. I would think there would be plenty nearby in Myrtle or possibly some where you live. You can go there and hopefully roll some putts with just about every current offering to get an idea on what you might like. After deciding on a head design, get fit, then enjoy. :)

I would go to a PGA Professional and get fit for your putter, if not even to the scotty cameron studio. Each putter is going to be different..ie Toe flow, which is going to affect the stroke that is put on the ball. with the wrong putter it is really hard to hole your putts,  which can mean higher scores which nobody likes, but once you find the right style putter you can customize it to make it yours. If you like your putter and it feels good in your hands you will make more putts.

My suggestion would be to go find a well respected teaching pro and have a putting lesson and check your stroke is looking ok. Ideally find one who has some sort of putting monitor (like a TrackMan for putting) and they'll be able to tell you what kind of stroke you have and what style of putter would suit. I for example have a neutral putting stroke (I keep the face square back and through the ball) so a face balanced putter suits me best. Once you know what type of putter you should be looking for, the next step is to find one that looks and feels good to you.
