Looking for some help on shortening the length on my counter balanced Futura X putter. I like the weighting on the putter but it's 2" to long for me, I thought I could adjust to it's longer length but it's not working. I'm afraid to let the Pro shop shorten it, because they might ruin the grip during the removal of Scotty Cameron counter balanced grip. I'm afraid to remove it due to the longer length of the grip, the Cameron grip is long than a conventional putter grip. Will Titleist shorten it up for me, what is the charge for a service like this and where would I send it to have it done correctly.

  2. Choke down on the putter and there is no physical weight that you can see in the grip and any shop should be able to get the grip off. I just got a Scotty and put a super stroke on it and the guy saved the original for me without me asking him to but places have needles they can stick into the grip to break the glue up
  3. First, ensure on any Dual Balance club that you have 3" above your grip and the end of the club. Otherwise you are defeating the purpose of the weighting. Second, if you have it shortened, I would send it to the Scotty Cameron Custom Shop. The cost is about $50 and includes a new grip (this is the minimum charge but you will get a new grip plus they will check your loft and lie angles plus if you like get a new headcover at the same time for a couple bucks more!).

    Good Luck!

I agree with Chris that you should send it back to the Scotty Custom Shop for adjustment to make sure it is shortened properly. I changed the grip on my Dual Balance Futura X last week for the first time and saw how the counter weight is in the butt end of the shaft. Considering you would have to remove and reset the counter weight to shorten the shaft, I would just have the SC folks take care of everything for you.
