The GoLo putters are similar to the TM Ghost Mallet but I would try to find a local golf shop and try them all.

IMO, they're all different in their own ways. I'm a huge fan of the Newport putters and not really a fan of the GoLo and Futura putters. The look and feel felt different to me and seem to play better with the Newport...

Good luck and keep us posted!
  4. I would consider the Golo 5R or Futura X7, X7m.

They will be comparable however you should take a look at the entire line for yourself to see if any specific putter looks attractive at your local Titleist golf store.

I think you have to decide what type of putter head best suits you first what your eye likes and build from there example Newport blades mallet etc then you go to a fitter get the rite length grip size and what degree of loft on putter face is your best bet in any case get fitter help don't just buy

Try all of the putters. I narrowed the putters down to 2-3 then closed my eyes and hit numerous putts, trusting the results. I ended up getting the dual balance Newport 2.
  7. Funny that is what I have been kicking around the idea of getting. Not sure who if anyone around me custom fits a SC but I would like to go that route. Otherwise just off the rack should be fine. How do you like the DB version? I have not had a chance to hit one yet

    I'd echo what Chris92009 said.

I'm in the process as well. I'm coming from a Odyssey versa 7 and a TM Spider previous to that.

I have tried all the models from select to GoLo to Futura and the X7M works the best for me. It's the one I felt most comfortable over and the one that was the most stable for me.

But you should try as many as you can yourself.

My first Scotty had me as the fitting expert. I didn't trust a blade and bought a Futura-X thinking the bigger the mallet... Still had issues on short putts, I was just as accurate from 15 feet as 5. My local AFC also has a putting studio, and it turns out I needed a toe weighted putter, not a face balanced mallet. Doing much better with a Newport-2 (easier choice since I'm LH with fewer options). Also ended up at 33 inches, not 34. It has cost me a lot to learn to not just trust my instincts.
  10. TIME FOR A NEW SHINY PUTTER?

I would recommend you grab a handful of putters you like and putt with them all. Pick the one that feels and looks like it will be the easiest for you to make the ball roll into the hole.

Including an extra "wildcard" among these trial selections might help to clarify what you seek most from your purchase.

Another technique that I learned to be beneficial when selecting a brand new putter was the laser test...
    1. a small magnetic laser mounts squarely on top of putter.
    2. laser points beam at mirror located behind center of cup.
    3. You might learn that you naturally line up certain style putters better or more consistently than others.

My results from the laser test concluded that I was able to aim the mid-mallet style of putters the best. I naturally left the face open when addressing most of the traditional blade putters. Mid-mallets pointed the laser exactly where I thought it should be pointing. It took the guesswork out of play. It allowed me to putt with more comfort & confidence.

Matty the Caddy - I like that laser tip to help train me to line up putts longer than 6 feet. Thank you!
