Does the 2016 select putters come in the Heavy version?

I have a 2014 Newport 34.5" putter & installed a Mid Matador grip on it and my distance control seemed to suffer, I since had the grip removed. I love the feel & size of the Matador Mid grip, also noticed it comes stock on the 2016 putters, however seem to lose the feel of the putter head. Looking possibly to going with 34" Newport 2.5 putter with the 20g weights?

I played 15g weights (stock) on my Scotty and bought some irradecent green Jackpot Johnny 20g weights and my putting significantly decreased. I would suggest weight they put in and maybe widen the stance.

If you want a really heavy putter, you can also try a dual balance Newport and cut it down to a more standard size length. I did that with one, and it felt like a tank.

I prefer the D6 - D7 swing weight in my putter, I tend to have a slower more even tempo with my putting stroke.
I may have to check to see if Titleist offers a lighter putter grip - maybe 65g-70g weight area instead of the 85g Matador, to increase the head feel without adding extra weight?

    TT Staff,
I was told that the 2016 Newport 2.5 - 34" model has a head weight of 360g with the standard 15g weights, is this accurate? also is it possible to order & pay upcharge on the Cameron midsize Leather grip instead of Matador?

Yes, that is the weight and you can order the leather grip through the Custom shop only. www.scottycameron.com/.../classic.aspx
  7. I have not seen any specifics on this however it is easy to do by purchasing a new set of weights.
