Stock Grip Phantom X 5

    Purchased an 34 inch x 5 today at a reputable local golf chain. After the purchase I went home and was just looking through the Scotty webpage about the 2022 X5 and saw they sell standard with the textured yellow and black grip, mine came with a dark grey grip.

    Should I be alarmed? The grip wasn’t in plastic but there were multiple models with this grey grip instead of the new standard.

    Do all Scotty’s ship to golf shops the same or is this normal? Nothing about the head sets off alarms and it feels great on the green but it is my first premium putter and not completely familiar with all the intricate details.

    After doing a little research, that grip is a 2020 model and that putter was also released in 2020. Could be a 2020 model.

    I agree. Chuck Z beat me to the punch. I found the same thing that said it is a 2020 model. Probably a left over that the shop you bought from sold. It still looks like the real thing. Enjoy it.

    Exactly. That is a 2020 model. That grip is totally legit.

    This is a current model version. The older models had the yellow lettering with the word Phantom. I have seen through different reputable golf stores, example the big box brands, they at times will have different grip options available on their website. It’s not anything to be worried about.
