Help me make a decision. At my club the unwritten rule is that when you reach 70 years of age you can play from the "Senior Tees" in club events. I am 69 and next year I am moving up for sure. They play 6000 yards compared to the "Men's Tees which play approximately 6500 yards. Now I understand I can play where I want regardless of the unwritten rule but the group I play with on a regular basis three or four times a week play from the Men's Tees regardless of age. Our group plays by handicap so if I move up to the senior tees I drop one stroke but what I gain is that from the Men's Tees there are two par 4 holes that I reach in regulation once in a blue moon. If I played from the senior tees I would be hitting a 5-7 iron instead of a 3 wood. I would still get a stroke on these two holes but would give up a stroke on one of the par 5's if I moved up. Also it is a little awkward when you are riding in a cart with someone when you play different Tees. Do I go ahead and move up or wait another year ?
