Wow! Lot's going on in golf this April. Inaugural Women's Amateur at Augusta National, kids Drive, Chip, and Putt finals there too, normal Masters TV coverage (no ticket for me this year), Vokey Short Game outing at Pinehurst, and trip to tour the New Bedford Ball Plant #3. I will try to work in a few rounds of golf too. Spring is here and April is shaping up to be a great month. Your plans for April?

Getting out as often as possible now that the weather is looking better.. Usually 3 rounds a week plus one good practice session. Hoping for a few trips to Florida.

Hey Dale V, April has me drill and filling greens, fertilizing every green, tee, fairway, and rough in sight. So much to do. Gotta love it!! Probably get in quite a few rounds as well. It's been pretty nice so far. It almost seems like we're having a real spring here at the Jersey Shore. Enjoy your April!!
    Play Well,

  4. April is the start of the season for me. Snow gives way to grass, finally able to get off mats. Time for golf watching galore. And...spring break trip to Denver and Nashville...golf with my two sons. Can't wait!

    Enjoy!

It is finally time to shake off the rust. I plan on practicing as much as possible, and play at least once a week.
  8. Ah April, month of my birth... Golf-related presents and the start of the season for me.
I've done my bit in the winter but the best bit has often been the Guinness afterwards.
Golf on Temporary Greens, with chapped lips and split fingers is not really my idea of a good time.
Perversely, my mates want to go abroad to warmer climes in the British summer so we "do" Spain & Portugal when it's roasting hot. Yes, I know, - I don't understand it either, but mates are mates so I go with the flow.. and the flights full of Bucket & Spaders.

I have played 10 of the last 14 days so March wasn't too bad.
  13. I'm fortunate enough where I live in an area where I can play almost year round. I plan on playing as much as possible! I just got my four dozen ProV1s in, and I plan on breaking some of them in.

Still using mats for the range, but the courses are open with only the rare hole still closed due to being wet or the green still thawing. Even the north-facing bunkers are now snow-free. Hoping to get 2 rounds in before Pinehurst. Have a 4-4-3 batch of yellow balls to get used to for that trip.

Just the regular rounds with the guys with hopes to miss the aeration process per course, but surely more practice than rounds are in order.

Furthermore, I've heard and seen the TS4 here and its (silent) debut for late June so I am looking to find more info about it as I look forward to an opportunity to swing a few with it :-)

Yep, I see that our greens are scheduled to be punched on April 15 so perfect timing for me to head to Pinehurst and the following week's business trip to Boston (with a side trip to the Ball Plant). Should be in decent shape by the end of the month. I bet it will be May before the TS4 demos are showing up at the fittings. I love my TS3 so I can't see myself switching although i loved the 430cc heads in the older models.

Dale, you are in great timing for sure, and what an awesome side trip to the ball plant- I sure envy you.

Yes, I agree, the TS3s are great drivers, but the 430cc for one on the TS4 and its low piercing feature appeals much to me. You might remember, the Ws here in Antelope Valley are constant and it's an effort to keep the ball low. I can't wait to see it and also try them- I'll settle for May.

btw- I was in your neighborhood over the weekend and had a chance to sneak out and played Coronado gc. What a fun place!
  20. Masters Tournament, first good stretch of 60 degree weather. It's an annual rebirth of sorts.

April is the beginning of the slow season here in FL, as the snowbirds start to head back north. So I can enjoy the golf a little more as it's less crowded here. By the middle of May, it's pretty much cleared out.
  22. We're waiting for the grass to wake up in SE Wisconsin -- more and more public courses are opening by the day around us.

2019 is a golf-reset for me. First year as a private-club member, I need to get (5) rounds posted by the first week in May in order to be eligible for this year's club tournament schedule. Hitting balls in the cold is making me nostalgic -- back to the high school days of handwarmers in pockets, winter hats, and greens that bounce like bathroom tile.

April golf is such a transitional time around here with the fairways coming in and the greens getting faster. The flowers are beginning to bud/bloom here in The Triangle but the weather is topsy-turvy as today's high is 71 with yesterday high 41.

Best wishes to all my Northern brethren who are just coming out of their winter hibernation! Swing easy and don't push it too early...
