  1. Hey all, new to the group but just have a quick question. Currently still using my old Addams redline irons and are interested in a new set. I'm currently torn between the Titleist AP1's and the png G410's. Thoughts? Yes I know this is a Titleist page however I am looking for honest opinions. Thanks

I haven't hit the G410s, but I moved from G20s to AP1s and couldn't be happier. They feel great. As I'm sure others will say (if they haven't already).....Get fitted.

I have not tried the G410s but would recommend giving the AP3s a try as well before you make your decision.

You can't go wrong with any titleist product. Best irons in the game. However, the best advice you can get is to go see a fitter and hit them for yourself. Get in the right set up and see the results! Good luck!

I'd go get fit by a professional club fitter in your area. Go with the irons that perform well on the range/simulators and have good numbers on the launch monitors, and give you the most confidence when you look down at address. I'm a numbers junkie, but you also have to have confidence when you look down at the club. I've always felt extremely confident/comfortable pulling a Titleist iron out of the bag, which is why I've played them since I was a kid w/ my first hand me down set. I love Titleist for the reasons mentioned above, but they aren't paying you to use their clubs so go w/ whatever is going to allow you to have the most confidence in putting the ball in the hole in the least amount of strokes. For me, that's always a Titleist iron or wedge and the reason I lurk here often! Find what works for you!

If you are afraid we will not give you an honest answer and don't understand that the majority of users on this sight are using Titleist irons for a reason, go to a neutral fitter like Club Champion or Golf Tech and try all manufactures products.

Just find a Titleist Thursday and knock yourself out... Get fit in all seriousness—— With Titleist

You can always demo a set of (Titleist) irons and take them out on the course a couple of times to see how they work for you. Then go get fit for a proper custom set that's built to your specs. However, i'd personally wait until the next generation of Titleist irons come out in August.
  10. I used to play png irons for two decades until I discovered the commitment to the golf markets that Titleist has and switched almost immediately...you will really enjoy the customer service, commitment to the best products and versatility of the products available at Titleist.

    Good Luck!

  11. Test the two side by side see for yourself only way to know as everyone's different.

The ap1's look good and feel good.

I would add what others have mentioned and get fitted. I had my first fitting two weeks ago and was surprised with the recommendations. Got the clubs back from Titleist and they are spot on.

If youre stuck between clubs, i would go to a fitting and hit the ones youre most comfortable with. Its always good to get fitted to the right shaft, club etc...especially for irons which are a pretty big investment

New to golf and getting no serious help at retailers, I went to a pro shop and we worked with G15 and 712 AP1. I actually didn't know Titleist made clubs before I got there. Unknown to me this was the first season after Cobra was sold off. The G15 with the huge sole looked wonky to my eye, so I ended up with the AP1. The png hybrids at that time looked more like driving irons/over-sized irons. So I gravitated to all Titleist products. The 410 would make that a little harder choice today as it doesn't have the "classic" G-series appearance. Two considerations - Titleist pro shops (not major retailers) have some flexibility in pricing that png does not allow, and Titleist uses "real deal" shafts as opposed to the base png shafts being "by png". As a LH golfer, the only companies with full line LH options were png and Titleist. I wouldn't/can't work with any others.
  15. I just made the switch from old Cobras to AP1s. I went for a club fitting and was able to try several different 7 irons, including the G410s. I did not like them as much as the Titleist. They felt a bit heavy and clunky but the AP1s were quite forgiving.
