  1. Without be too wordy, in addition to time on my hands to reflex, I would say time spent in the 60s on a few Golf courses has inspired me to consider taking up the game at 62. Its never too late. In a time where food was won by hard work, families were 6 kids was normal. Time spent with a man (my father) on a course or 2, impressed upon me, the need to focus, and "anything worth doing is worth that focus, that effort".

I took up golf in 1985 and learned the game at Patriots Point in Mt Pleasant, SC at the age 39. Was more concerned about working and playing league and traveling softball. Admired a gentleman by the name of Whitey Whitesides. Was in his eighties but one heck of a short game player. Stressed to me the importance in that part of the game and managing your shots. Always told me you can only look at a putt so may times so when you see the break, get over the ***** thing and put a good stroke on it. He hated playing with folks who looked at a putt five six times. He would actually tell them how it would break. He was a character. Valued that advice. He was one of the best putters I have ever seen. Would never bet against him. He honed his game playing with the likes of Sam Snead and Ben Hogan.
