Don’t know if y’all remember these but wondering if anyone accomplished all of their 2020 goals?

Being in my second year of playing, I was able to check mark 5 of 7 goals.

1.) Have had 6 rounds with 2 or more birdies.

2.) Arccos Caddie showed I average 32 putts out of the 60 rounds in played in this year.

3.) Broke 85 multiple times, 81 being the lowest

4.) gym was tough due to covid but maintained my body weight and gained some core strength, gained 10 yardage of carry on each club (couldn’t fully check this off)

5.) went through a major swing change and now have a more natural swing from the inside with better balance

6.) My starting handicap this year was a 22.7 and I am now a 11.9

7.) unfortunately I did not win a golf tournament but I had many top 3 finishes, definitely beat my first year when I was dead last in every tournament.

How did y’all do? What are you planning on for next year?

That's a great year! Hopefully you see continued success in 2021. For me, I did not accomplish any of my goals for the year. Unfortnately, golf was not a priority this year thanks to a number of factors. I am really looking forward to 2021 and warmer weather.

Yep, had a number of steriod injections in my back, major back surgery L5, many weeks of physiotherapy, no golf for almost a year, am now back playing golf, shooting in the high 80's even with a couple of birdies a round. Just need to find that consistency. Even tried to walk 18 holes of golf Monday and definitely was not the most successful thing I have done in my life. Has been 8 years since I have walked on a golf course because of many years of back problems and my pulmonary issues. Had a very good nap that afternoon. Now that arthritis has set in my hip and lower back and in the words of my lovely understanding wife, "at your age honey, you just may not be able to walk any longer". "That golf cart may just give that 74 years old body you many more happy years of golf". Same advice my doctor gave me, except he did not call me honey. Whew. It has been an interesting year but I am back playing golf. My goal for 2021 is not to set goals and but to enjoy life to the fullest on and off the course, one more day at a time. With respect to all.

COVID put a damper on plans for year. Stopped going to a health club in March. Pro shops were closed and I didn't get around to signing for league until I ended up as an alternate in 2 leagues. Ok, but no one was taking vacations. I didn't average 18 holes/round a week for a 7 month season.
    For 2021 -
    1. I now have a workout routine I can do in my own basement. It includes some strengthening but focuses on stretching and flexibility. I wasn't flexible enough at 35, can't afford any (more) loss at 70.
    2. I'm retiring, so my goal is getting to 60-80 rounds from my past average of 25-30 rounds a year. Can play in the geezer AM times during the week + league + Saturday am group.
    3. Refit the upper end of the bag for better spacing from 7 iron (T400 26 degree - a 5-6 iron in other sets) to driver. T400 6 iron - 23 H2 - 21 7W don't have enough separation.
    4. Settled on putter/SM8 wedges, just need more work/use.
    5. Moving to the X - the added launch works well with the lower lofted T400's.
    6. This off-season work to not starting swing with chest. Leads to "chicken-winging" with some out to in path and a tendency to not close face at impact (delayed lag). Taught myself that "classic" swing years ago. (I should slap myself for getting such a horrible teacher).
    7. Finally find out if work prevented me from getting from a 20 to 15 handicap. "No one puts - I wish I could have spent more time at work - on their tombstone".
    8. More greens in regulation, from 2 to 6 or more. #'s 2, 3, and 6 should help with this, which will lead to #7. I have way too much expertise in wedges from 50-75 yards out.

2020 was good for only one thing for me. My golf game! I crushed my goals for the year because I devoted all of my time to golf. I consistently shot rounds in the 70s. I came close to getting a hole in one on a few occasions. And by close I mean hitting the flagstick but it just didn’t go in. I made almost a full switch in all clubs and put T100 irons in the bag, TS3 driver and hybrids and some fresh SM8 wedges. I’m so thankful I was able to put so much time toward my game and it paid off big.

Congrats, Jay-C. I am thinking about my 2021 goals. 2020 has been a tough year, however, at least I have gone back to my old swing and I am happy with that.

Ok, first where did we get the Proving it goals things at? As for my goals in 2020

    1. Become more accurate in driving - Accomplished went from 27% to 38%

    2. Lower my Handicap 5 points - Accomplished went from 21.8 to 13.6 hdcp (last 4 years have been brutal for me)

    3. Hit more greens - Did not accomplish that one, still at a really poor 24% (but misses are closer)

    4. Break 80 - Accomplished shot 78 39/39, 2 days later shot 80 because I bogeyed #18 (41/39)

    5. Improve up/downs from 27% - Accomplished 39% in 2020

2021 goals not set yet, but have new T200 irons & a new TSi2 Driver to start off the year with.
