Just want to celebrate a little bit. I shot a 77, yesterday. This is the first time I've broken 80 since my mid-20s. I took a long hiatus from consistent playing when my first child was born, but now that the kids are bigger and my son is playing, I've been back at it, practicing every day and enjoying the process. Last summer, I was in the mid-90s and leveled off in the mid-80s, teetering on the edge with 81s and 82s--until yesterday. 77. Even better, I did it with the 620 MBs.

Looking at my round, the holes where I failed to shoot par or better were due to poor decision-making that left me in a bunker or misreading a break in the green. The most important thing was that when I did make a mistake, it didn't bother me at all. I really feel like I'm the king of the world.

    Here's my bag: TSi2's 10.5/15/18; 620MB 4-PW; SM8 52/56/60; Scotty Newport 2 Ball: ProV1x

You'd better be on your game for the big match against the Titleist crew!

That's a nice round. Congrats. I remember the first time I broke 80. I shot 75 playing with some buddies from my industry. We'd meet somewhere once a summer to play. Next day I was showing the card to the guys at work and they said if I was going to manufacture a card to show off, a least I could come up with better names than Rick, Tim, Beefer and Bubba.

Good luck as you continue to work on going low!

Congrats on hitting the milestone...again! Keep grinding, so the 70's become more consistent.

Congratulations on your success. That six inches between the ears sometimes just gets in the way. A visit with my local teaching pro has helped me shoot more consistently in the 80's. It is finally starting to sink in and it is slowly coming back. Think that is called an Epiphany. If I could only shoot 69 again. If I could only be 69 again. ha....ha....ha.... Also playing with another group that enjoys having fun helps also. Cheers. Fairways and greens. =)

Congratulations on a wonderful round, it's always nice to stay mentally in control when playing well & a mistake pops up.

Here's to many more sub 80 rounds since you've done it now.

Thanks for the encouragement…I’m lucky to have a club pro who coaches me via text pro bono at odd hours when my brain is thinking about golf. Too bad he’s a cally guy. I have to give him a bunch of credit for steering me through some of the finer details that got allowed me to accomplish the 77. School just ended and I have a lot of golf in front of me, so here’s to shooting closer to par—or better!—sooner than later, I hope.
  9. Congrats!
I am hoping to get back in the 70s soon.

Congratulations on a great round. I'm sure many more will follow. The thing I like most was the fact that you did not let one bad shot affect the next one.

    Keep up the good work.
  12. Congratulations!
