I have a couple questions for everyone: Will all LIV Golf events be 54 holes? If so, will the players earn World Ranking points?

I personally don't think they should earn points if they are not playing 72 hole events. It just doesn't seem fair to those playing 72 hole events, if those playing 54 holes events also earn points.

From my understanding, world ranking points are established by a board that determines through some form of a vetting process which tournaments will qualify for world ranking points. At this time, the LIV Tour events do not qualify for world ranking points.

If I were a betting person, I'm sure the CEO and authorities in the LIV Tour would want to have their events qualify for world ranking points to validate their existence because if not, they're just an exhibition event.

TBD, but if most no longer qualify for majors, they will need something to do on major weekends. For now, they only will miss PGA Tour events, including Ryder and President’s Cup. W/O enough ranking they will also miss Masters and US Open if they have no exemptions.

Based on the history of the rankings and the current tours on the list, I do not see them getting points from the LIV tournaments. LIV is not on the list. Will it be added is to be seen in the future. My guess would be no, based on the view of the PGA and the other tours. One opinion.

In 2010, a maximum number of tournaments was introduced as well as the minimum of 40. The maximum number was initially set to 60 from January 2010 and was reduced by 2 every six months until it reached 52 in January 2012. This means that since 2012 only the player's 52 most recent tournaments (within the two-year period) are used to calculate his ranking average.[1]

At first only the Championship Committee of the Royal and Ancient used the rankings for official purposes, but the PGA Tour recognized them in 1990, and in 1997 all five of the then principal men's golf tours did so. The rankings, which had previously been called the Sony Rankings, were renamed the Official World Golf Rankings at that time. They are run from offices in Virginia Water in Surrey, England.

If high ranking players continue to go play there, ranking points will be considered. I dont think the amount of holes will matter not field size. Tigers tournament in the fall only has like 20 players and no cut, it gets world ranking points. So if top players continue to go over and play LIV, they OWGR will have to eventually asses ranking points to these events.

The LIV Golf series/tour will need World Ranking Points to validate their presence. Something tells me that they will not get it and for those players relying on world ranking to get into majors will be in a pickle pretty soon.

With respect to the US Open and The Open, you can still go through the qualifying process to get into the field, but the Masters is invite only and the PGA is based upon membership of the PGA of America and their criteria. Net, net is those not exempt will soon find themselves having to qualify for 2 of the 4 majors and by only playing in 8 events annually, it will be hard for them to stay sharp.

Even if they did get granted ranking points you have to assume those points will be far less than your standard PGA Tour event, then factor in a possible discount factor for a 54 hole event, and then the strength of the LIV field, you're not going to be flying up the rankings.
