Here in Oceanside…can’t play golf!!!

    As I suspected, wife put the no-go on me for playing golf while in this incredibly golf-abundant “Mecca,” so I’m down to my last hope for some sort of experience. I was hoping to go to the TPI, but she shut that down, too (we do actually have a lot of soccer to attend, so it’s really not on her). I was hoping to at least go see the TPI since it’s right next door to the SoCal Soccer Complex.

    Will they let me in to just look or shop?

    Appointments only. Guard at the front gate will ask your name and check his sheet. I certainly understand the security. Without that, there would be huge crowds coming and going all day. Also, there is no shopping in there. Items they give as part of the experience are not stocked in any type of shop there. You can go down the road to the Scotty shop.

    Not likely. There are times when they are running R&D stuff or have pros on-site. Not everyday is available for a fitting. There is a guard station to let in invitees only. It would take one of the concierges to arrange it and that would take a few days if they even do one-off cases. Even Ball Plant 3 needs to be scheduled in advance.

    Not going to happen...Very Secure Facility.
    I would recommend visiting the Scotty Cameron Gallery.
    Also stop out at Goat Hill Park...Right down the street from the SoCal Soccer Complex...pro shop has some cool swag. Frazier Farm Market is a cool place for smoothies and stuff...good spot for the team to grab a bite...right at the gate to the Goat.

    Have gone on many vacations without the Titleist bag going with me. Has been a good choice. As they say, happy wife, happy life........at least that is what I have been saying for over 44 years......second marriage and seems to be working........ you are young and there will be plenty of time...... =)
