There’s truly no end to heartwarming stories in this world, and golf certainly has a share of its own. Three in particular have touched my heart late this season. Eric Van Rooyen’s win at the World Wide Technology was dedicated to his best friend Jon Trasamar. Jon is dying of cancer, and he and Eric were best friends and teammates at the University of Minnesota golf team. Camilo Villegas won for the first time in 9 years (Butterfield Bermuda), after losing his 22 month old daughter Mia recently. Lastly, I just watched Hayden Springer win his 2024 PGA Tour Card in the final round of Q School. Hayden lost his 3 year old daughter in November. Still barely in contention, he hit his drive on 17 in the water. An up and down for bogey and a par on 18 finished the job for him. I’m hoping others will share similar stories and hope you all carry your own blessings through this Holiday season and into the next year.
