  1. New member. Looking for iron recommendations for (mid handicap) Thanks!

  2. Welcome to the community! I would consider the T200 and possibly T350 or a blended set. I am a 3 handicap and use a blended set...The T100 and T150 would be worth looking at if you are a sweeper of the ball since the soles are thin compared to the forgiveness of the T200 and T350 wider soles.

    IMHO

Stole the words out of my mouth.

I play the 150's... As a 4 HC I love the forgiveness they give me, but mid-handicappers would benefit significantly going with the 200 and even the 350 at the top end. Loft's all adjusted for gapping of course. I would note, though, that I have a U505 4-iron in the bag and have been toying with an enemy OEM's 3 Fli-Hi. Why? Cause why not make the game easier, right? :-D

All in all, though, it's all individual. Enjoy the fitting process that professional Titleist fitters give and see what works best for you.

    Best!

Reading between the lines of Chris’s response - he covered the full line of T series irons. And rightly so. Any advice from this forum is free and worth every penny.
Titleist schedules consultants from the Fitting tab on the website. The fitting requires a $100 earnest money deposit but is applied to a purchase. You get to work with an expert whose sole interest is to find the right combination of clubs to hit and hold greens. I consider this as a benefit to staying with Titleist.
Enjoy being involved with this group. Thousands do.

Go to a Titleist Fitting with an open mind and see what the results are.

Handicaps are based on scores and score can be high or low for a lot of reasons. Some high handicappers hit irons pretty well and like the feel of high end muscle back or irons like T100 and some low handicap players like and perform well with game improvement style irons. Point being, do not settle for irons based solely on your handicap. Get fit and talk with your fitter about your specific goals and preferences. You might end up with a model you did not expect but will love. Good luck!

Welcome to the group. Titleist provides multiple options in the iron department. If you could find a Titleist fitter in your area that would be a great place to start. Here's a link for you to check out:

The fitter should be able to guide you towards a set or combo set that works best for your game. Good luck and welcome again.

I agree with Chris - I switched to the T350'sand they are a game changing set. Regained my distance and also my dispersion was tighter than my previous T200's. Welcome to the group!!!

Get fit by a certified Titleist fitter, preferably outdoors and with quality balls (ProV1). No one here has seen you swing a club.. Get fit and that way you will know it's YOU and not the club.

Welcome to TT. I hope you find the posts and commentary enlightening. Echoing Chris92009 comments, I too like the idea of a blended set. For most of us, the more help we can get with the longer irons the better.I'd look at T100 or T150 in the 7-PW and T200 4-5-6 iron, in my opinion.

Best of luck, and again, welcome to TT.

Titleist Certified fitter put me in the T350's. Love them and am finally physically able to start striking them in the middle. Please see a fitter. =)

Welcome to the community. I am still be using the 718Ap2's. T200 i believe would be the current similar model.

The AP2 is a forged head that is most similar to the T100. The AP3 is most similar to the T200 in the original T series lineup. But the gen 3 irons are no longer a 1:1 replacement for AP irons. A fitting is essential to get what matches best coming from an AP iron.

Actually, the T100/T150 was the equivalent to AP2 and the T300/T350 to the AP1. They added an AP3 which then became the next generation T200.

Go to a Golf Galaxy or a PGA SS and test them all. Make sure a fitter is there, he/she will steer you in the right direction. Just my 2 cents.

    Welcome to the TT Community!
Lots of great recommendations above. As you can probably tell, most of us get fit every time we are considering new clubs (woods, irons, wedges), just to make sure our equipment fills our expectations. Then it's all about putting them to use and having fun.

Good luck and enjoy the journey!
