I'm lucky enough to be headed to Monterey in two weeks with my dad and 2 uncles to play Pebble, Spyglass, Del Monte, and Pacific Grove(poor mans pebble). I will be there for a week so I am looking to get some ideas on things to do, places to go, best places to eat or anything else you think is a must do while there. Feel free to post any comments suggestions or experiences you have had at these courses or in this area. Looking forward to reading your posts!

All of the restaurants at the Pebble resort are amazing. One of my favorite things to do there is the 17-Mile drive. We also took a drive along Big Sur which is really cool to do. Other than that, enjoy golf! Spyglass Hill was one of my favorite courses to play. PLay it cautiously though as it is a tougher course than it appears to be. It is sneaky long and the greens roll fast. Pebble Beach was just an unforgetable experience to play. I was lucky enough to play it 4 times. On the backside, most of the time you want to keep your ball down the left side and let it roll back in. Have fun and good luck!!

Have been lucky to have played Pebble Beach, Spyglass, Spanish Bay and Del Monte and am headed back in in the fall to repeat rounds again on all but Del Monte.  Del Monte is fairly flat and a classic "old" type layout, with not a lot of surprises. The others are just incredible and all different layouts. I was surprised that Pebble actually has less ocean view holes than the other 3 courses, but nothing beats coming up 18 and having folks on the patio cheer (and groan) when you are coming home!  Wind plays into a lot of the front holes at Spanish Bay, so some course management is a must! Staying at The Lodge or The Inn is another dream come true too!

Bayonet or Black Horse in Monterey, along with Poppy Hills (Pebble Beach) are other good tracks and reasonable rates as well.

We took a caddy on Pebble the first time we played/for reading those crazy greens and potential hidden trouble areas and it was well worth it.  Golf item shopping at The Lodge is incredible as well!

Enjoy and look forward to your updates when you get back from playing.
