I went out to Biloxi with a group of guys and we also played the Grand Bear (a Nicklaus course obviously) and it was a good course.  It was a couple of years ago, but it was in great shape when we played it.  I think it is considered to be Saucier, MS, but it was a pretty short drive from what I recall.

You will be fairly close to 2 sites on the RTJ Trail over in Alabama. For nostalgia but not great difficulty, Great Southern is a Donald Ross design and a former PGA stop. Still fairly original in that the greens are postage stamps, in both size and shape. I didn't hit many greens in regulation, but I did have a bunch of up and downs from where I would normally be on the green. It is right at the coast road with a new clubhouse replacing the one lost to Katrina.
