What a grey opportunity to be chosen for this event.  Another reason why it's so great to play Titleist clubs and wear FootJoy apparel & shoes, you never know what rewards will come your way.  Take plenty of pics to share with the your TT brethren.

Leaving at 5 am Monday and prepping for the trip.  First pictures of many to come.  Representing the Acushnet brands. Starting with have clubs will travel.  Am throwing in my Titleist cart mitts just in case.  Supposed to be in the low 60's and windy on Thursday.   Along the cliffs, who knows.  Cheers, Chuck....

What a exciting lifetime experience!.  Played the new Cabot Cliffs on Wednesday and the Cabot Links on Thursday.  For those of you who like to travel and experience new golf courses, this is the place.  Only thing to do there is play golf!  We left Halifax on Tuesday and team FootJoy drove three and one-half hours up the coast to Cape Breton and the Cabot Resort.   All dressed in our FJs and toting Titleist bags and equipment we set out on Wednesday morning for a day of golf.  We did not get to play together as a team on Wednesday but did join up as a foursome on Thursday.  Fortunately I had the same caddy for both days. He was a retired veteran of the Canadian tour and a fine gentleman to have carry my bag and share stories with. Unfortunately his advice did not aide my game which I believe I left in Charleston.  The flog monster showed up and took my game with him and can I say my back went out or would that sound like an excuse.  At least I played the front nine on the Cliffs four over.  But my goal was to meet some new people, have fun and enjoy the beauty of a new course that very few people would get to experience until next year.  The course opened in July with very limited play.  No more that 60 players per day at 20 minute intervals.  We were there on a special preview sponsored by GlobalGolfPost magazine.  Special note:  Titleist was there doing a commercial shoot on a couple of holes while were were playing.  I challenge each of you to put this on your list of courses to play.  You will never regret it.  Great challenges, beautiful layout and the locals are as friendly as they come.

Me and my new friend.  My caddy Don.  We had something in common, I am 69 and he is 70.  These courses are walking only and walking the Cliffs is a seven mile trek.  Let's say I survived to play another day, barely.  Hill and dale.  

The Cabot Cliffs.  It has not been rated because it is so young.  But those numbers should go high.    The Links course is rated at 73.7 with a slop of 132.  Don said the Cliffs would probably be around 135.  

The signature hole and it is insane.  Way to hard for the average golfer.  You need a lot of luck.  We were hitting into a three club wind.  

Hole number one at the Cabot Links. This course reminds of the links courses in Ireland. You need to stay in the fairways or you donate you golf balls.  According to my count I left ten Prov1x's on both courses in two days.  No bad considering the conditions.   

My favorite, but not necessarily to play, on both courses.  Just love the looks of the hole.  Dogleg left.  The fairways roll towards the water all the way to the green.  If you look close you can see my second shot in the rough on left by the sand trap by the green.  Bald eagles were nesting in the pines across the lake to the left which you cannot see.  I actually saw an eagle coming in on the back nine soaring down the beach.  Beautiful sight.

A great place to eat outside the entrance to the resort.  Highly recommended by my caddy and he was dead on.  Best turkey sandwiches I have eaten.  Not deli turkey meat, real turkey

So who is off to Nova Scotia next year?  Grab those Titleist clubs, take an extra sleeve of those Titleist balls and have a great time.   We did, it an experience we will never forget.  Team FJ and TT rocked it.  Cheers, Chuck

Chuck - That's an incredible looking course!  Regardless of score, it sounds like a great time for everyone.  Definitely adding this to my must play list.
