on my way to my ML fitting, I was able to get a round at TPC Boston to warm up. the fitting is tomorrow morning.
My round was originally scheduled for 11:20, but I was able to switch it to 8:00. Upon arriving at the course, I see that my group will be first out!!!! The only issue was that the other 3 players that signed up were no-shows. I ended up golfing solo today, but rather than getting myself down after paying a nice $$ for greens fees. I did ask if the next group had an opening, but no luck.
The course is awesome and they had fore caddies on every non par 3 hole. Knowing this, I took my time and talked with the caddies. After a while, I had put a sizeable gap to the other group. The fore caddies for the back 9 were just starting to arrive. So, to help out my round and their own situation, I was assigned my own fore caddie for the rest of the round!!! he was a nice kid and knew the course well. Plus, he was also a great cheerleader for several par saving putts.
If you ever get an opportunity to play TPC Boston, make sure to take advantage. The course is challenging yet playable. I played the blended tees at 6,257 yards, rating of 71.2 and a slope of 135!
It will definitely be on my calendar again!!!!
