    Hey everyone - 

    With the holidays around the corner, I will be heading back home to Ohio for a few days. Packing to go home isn't my favorite activity, but when it comes to packing for a golf trip, I am all about it. 

    Say you're going on a four-day golf trip. Weather is looking warm and sunny the first two days, but rainy and in the low 50s the second two. What are your essentials and what's going in your bag(s)?

    I'm with you Abby! I hate packing for any trip with the exception of a golf vacation. I typically look at the forecast and if there is any chance of rain I will move my clubs to my StaDry golf bag. For me it's all about layering and personally I'd rather be hot than cold. Here's my packing list.

    -2 pair of FJ golf shoes

    -4 pants

    -2 shorts

    -4 socks

    -short and long sleeve base layers

    -4 golf shirts

    -2 over shirts

    -2 hats

    -FJ rain suit

    -FJ rain shirt

    -FJ rain hat

    -clubs, 3 sleeves of balls, 2 towels, brush and dish detergent for cleaning shoes/clubs after rounds

    Personally I tend to over pack for every trip because playing good golf is also about being comfortable. Golf in general can be very mental so the last thing you want irritating you is something you can control. I will typically play in any kind of weather as long as the course is open.

    My last golf trip was a three day trip with rain, wind, and cool temps the entire weekend.  But my FJ gear kept me warm and dry all weekend.

    - 4 FJ Golf shirts

    - 4 pairs of FJ shorts (I can wear shorts even when it gets cool and the rain pants can be worn if the temps are too cold in the morning)

    - 2 FJ pullovers (at least one being a lined sweater for the potential windy day)

    - FJ rain jacket

    - 2 pairs of FJ rain pants

    - 2 pairs of FJ rain gloves

    There is nothing worse than having to re-wear wet gear the next day, so.....

    - 4 hats

    - 3 or 4 pairs of shoes

    - 6 pairs of socks

    - Extra towel or two to keep things as dry as possible on the course

    The rest of my stuff would be the normal clothes/gear you would pack for any trip.

    Great post Abby!!  Nothing better than packing for a golf trip other than the anticipation of you not being able to wait for the trip to begin!!  Haha.

    From a few times being burned in the past you live and learn!!

    Have to pack your FJ rain gear!!  You just never know what will happen this time of year.

    - ProV1x golf balls

    - My trusty full bag of Titleist equipment

    - About 3-4 towels in the bag

    - 2 pair of FJ golf shoes (pick from mProjects, DNAs, XPS-1's, or Icons)

    - Warmer FJ jacket in case you are cold and wet. 

    - Zip lock bags to keep you range finder and valuables dry. 

    - Extra pants, shirts, plenty of socks in case water splashes over your waterproof FJ's!!

    Never leave home without your Team Titleist hat!

    Other than that I should be good to go!!

    Abby, Ohio this time of year shorts are not even a concern. 

    I'm packing 2 different pair of golf shoes, several pair of slacks. Base layer under garments, rain gear and both a light and heavy golf jacket. I would also consider a golf cart heater.

    Abby, you always bring out the fun stuff...Thanks! But, oh, yeah, I agree, "Preparation is everything in golf"- it's half the fun! So knowing the weather will be nice and sunny the first two days and cooler or possibly raining the next two days, I'll definitely include a couple of shorts for the sunny days, maybe three if the warmer days could possibly extend, but never leave the wind shirt home. Two pants for sure and a rain shirt with a rain hat and a rain pants. Three pairs of low cut socks and three pairs of crew socks, six or seven golf shirts, 2 long sleeves mocks, a black belt, three pairs of shoes- four if there's room. "All FootJoy gears, and all Titleist hats." The bag is a Titleist lightweight stand bag. In it, with the exception of hybrids and an academy towel, are all Titleist- three sleeves of Pro V1 should be more than enough with a fresh glove together with a week old glove in the bag for warm up/practice….and we'll see you on the tee! :-)

    I would just change my plans and go somewhere sunny and warm.  Pick a nice place where I could play once a day and then have some fun and drinks at night.  Maybe Phoenix/Scottsdale or VEGAS baby, VEGAS!!!!

    Same as an Ireland trip in June. I always pack the FJ dry suit, gloves, and hat to ward off bad weather by being prepared for it. Also pack in layers if there is any chance the temp can go below 70 for every trip. My travel bag is usually pretty tight.

    Considering the only thing that rivals my golfing hobby is my closet, I like this thread.  I'm the over packer!  Why bring two pair of pants when 4 fit in the bag.  I have a lot of fashion theories.  One is not to cross fibers.  If I am wearing a micro-fiber shirt, I make sure the pants or shorts are of the same type material.  Also, I don't like cross branding. The carpet must match the curtains, if you catch my drift.  I prefer to stay with one clothing line from head to toe.  It's crazy I know, but we all have our thing!

    So to start, I'd go with this line up:

    2 swoosh Dri-fit Shirts/Shorts/Pants

    2 UA Shirts/Shorts/Pants

    1 FJ 1/4 zip wind pullover (Bob Vokey Store)

    1 ST vest

    2 PMillar Pants

    2 PMillar Polos

    1 1/4 zip PMillar sweater

    1 V neck  TBahama sweater

    Now here's the tricky part.....Shoes  

    i never wear dress golf shoes with shorts.  I prefer to wear more athletic shoes when I have on Dri-fit.  So I'll go with coordinating shoes for all four days.   

    Also rrmember guys.  Match your belt to your shoes.  The white belt is kinda over!  

    Yes i know.....I have serious issues

    I spend a week in Daytona area every Feb. always pack the same stuff. I keep my Dryjoy rain suit & unbrella in my Midsize Titleist bag, along with a full dozen of Pro V1 balls and usually 5 pair of footjoy ML Cadet gloves. Pack some FJ windshirts as well as under armor cold gear - 3 pair of Footjoy shoes and enough golf clothes for the week. We get our fill of golf, play 36 holes per day, 7:30am Tee Time (usually cool 50's), usually travel to next course, stop for lunch then 1:00pm Tee Time (warmer near 70). I remember playing the morning round in the rain and afternoon round in the sun on the same day.

    Extra everything especially socks and an extra pair of shoes. Titleist umbrella , FJ rain gear upper and lower. extra towels and My stay dry cap and Bucket hat
