Don't know if I spotted this too late for your trip. My wife and I have stayed at the Grand Hotel and really enjoyed the stay there. Lakewood's two courses are two of my favorites on the Robert Trent Jones Trail. Mature courses that are well maintained and I enjoy playing. To the north is Magnolia Grove which is on the northwest side of Mobile about an hours drive from the Grand Hotel. Two challenging courses up there. There is also Kiva Dunes that is close by and a short drive from your hotel. Kiva Dunes course is now re-opened with new greens.
