    Hey TT,

I will be going to Hawaii (Oahu and Maui) next week. Any recommendations? I don't think I will have enough time to play in Oahu but I'm definitely thinking about playing in Maui. The only course I've looked into so far is the Royal Ka'anapali, since it's right by my hotel.

    Thank you. Filipe

Hey Filipe, I've been to Maui a few times and had the chance to play Ka'anapali once. It's a great track and fun to play. However if you get the chance and have a few extra bucks, play Plantation Course at Kapalua. It's where they play the Hyundai Tournament of Champions.. IF i ever make my way back that's where i'm going...

IMO, Maui is hands down the best of all the Hawaiian Islands. You're going to have a great time!

While I've not played any of the Kapalua courses, The Wailea Golf Club(s) Blue, Emerald & Gold, are all fun to play over on the southern side or east of where you'll stay. Nevertheless, any golf out there in the island is a great time!

Have a great time & trust your Titleist!

We were in Hawaii last year and left my sticks at home. Next time we go we are flying directly to Maui and staying at the Hyatt again. Can walk out the door and on to the Ka'anapali courses. I love the head cover I picked from there with the dancing multicolored whales on it. I made the decision last year to do the Helicopter rides on the islands vs playing golf. Could have played a lot of golf for what those costs, but had a blast. Maui is by far our favorite of all the islands. Go online and type in Maui golf and you will find a lot of golf courses that will meet whatever your budget is. Aloha.

Having been to Hawaii more than 30 times and since you're on Maui I would recommend in order.
    The Plantation Course @ Kapalua
Gold Course @ Wailea (Wailea is a wealthy area not only homes but you'll find The Four Seasons, Grand Wailea, Fairmont Kea Lani, Wailea Hotel)
    Ka'anapali Kai Course

I've been to all the Islands except for Niihau (only native Hawaiians can go) many times and personally I like the Big Island the best, it has 8 of the 13 micro climates so you can see waterfalls in some areas, cactus in some areas, lava rocks and oh yeah you can snow ski or snow board on Mauna Kea too.

I second Bruce S recommendations. The Ka'anapali course, while a decent layout, would be at the bottom of my list and Plantation & the Wailea Gold at the top.

    Hi Filipe -

Hope you have a great trip to Hawaii, we are all jealous! I have spent a good deal of time in Hawaii ald enjoy playing golf there. If you can only play one time I would play the Kapalua Plantation course. It is very close to where you are staying and is (in my opinion) the best course on the island for sure. You can play the earliest of the twilight times and have more than enough time to finish at half the price.

If you have time for a second round, I woul play the Wailea Gold course. It is a little drive from where you are staying so you will have to be up for a little time in the car. It is the best of the three Wailea courses and worth the drive.

Be sure to take pictures to share with us and have safe travels and a fun trip!

    Hi Filipe,
My wife and I go to Hawaii every year, and I personally like Maui the best. You're going to have a blast.
I have to agree with Bruce and Mike. If you get the chance to play one course, make it the Plantation at Kapalua. It's one of the most fun rounds you can play. The fairways are wide open, the views are breathtaking, and it's (IMO) the official start to the PGA tour season.
If you get the first twilight tee time you'll have more than enough time to finish, and a Kapalua sunset is one of the best things on Maui.
