Cabot Links is officially open for play. Put it on your bucket list. If you’re looking for a getaway, the excursion to an extreme side-pocket of Canada is worth it.
Last year when we filmed NXT Tour and Velocity TV spots, I had the chance to play Cabot Cliffs and Links. Definitely two of the most fun golf courses I’ve ever played. I highly recommend going with your family or crew, unplugging from your phone and laptop, and that you take in the fresh air and scenic surroundings.
Golf: Be sure to practice taking extra club, flighting it low and lag putting. It’s possible to hit some par-5s in two, and also hit 4-iron or hybrid into a 150-yard par 3. You can put from 20 yards off a green, or hit lob wedge from 130 yards. It's a blast!
Lodging: You can't go wrong, and you can find any option that fits your style. Stay on property in one of the villas (pictured below) or rooms, or in a nearby campsite. Airbnb has a couple of spots nearby with beach access. Inverness is a small, quirky Nova Scotia town, and is definitely a departure from the rat race.
Dining: In town, check out their Downstreet Coffee Company (https://www.cabotlinks.com/dining/), which is also owned by Cabot. The cabot bar, panorama restaurant and public house are all great. I personally liked the patio dining at the public house—just bring your beanie, sunnies and a couple layers.
Enjoy the round, eh!
