Rich, Chris, Cool Breeze and I all headed to Cyprian Keys this week.
Cyprian Keys is a tight track with a good mix of holes. There's a lot of trouble, but there's also opportunity to score. The course winds through trees, over hills, bisects creeks, is lined with environmental hazards, and peppered with big rocks.
There's a lot of risk reward opportunities, and if you can hit your tee shots straight you'll be in good shape. Sideways is no good and often results in a lost ProV.
Cyprian is more of a mental challenge than a physical one, and is probably the most difficult course I've played under 6,500 yards. There's a ton of blind shots, tricky greens, and places you can't miss. A little course knowledge goes a long way here. A yardage book is your best friend.
Overall the course was in great shape, and I'd love to take another crack at it. If you get the chance to play, bring some extra balls, and don't go long!
As always the company is what made this round great.
