i really enjoyed Taquitz Creek in Palm Springs. 2 great classic courses that have been modernized

It's one of my favorite escape to places and time you've selected!

*SilverRock in the same La Quinta area is good, too, I think.
*The Classic Club is also very good. (many talks about the wind there, so I guess I've been lucky many times then.)
*Indian Wells, both the resort and the players courses are good. I like the players, but the resort is prettier.
*Desert Willow- Firecliff and Mountain View courses are good with emphasis on Firecliff (they've redone the course and took some bunkers out softening it a little, but these munis are still good.
Escena is one of a local's thing- no driving range, but I like it.
Eagle Falls is okay. Great maintenance and playability- they charge a little more than I think they should- a little crowded together in the middle of the front nine, but it's an okay course.

If you can get in in some of the private courses- you may get invited if for some luck, do not miss any of the courses at Big Horn. Mountain View cc across Citrus is pretty fun, too.

Indian Wells Both courses (Celeb and Players) - I like Players better even tho Celeb is more popular.

Classic Club - If not windy, other side of the 10 freeway no good somtimes.

SilverRock Resort - There has been construction of a hotel, check the conditions before play.

Desert Willow - Both courses are great.

March is an amazing time to play in the desert! The ball fly's in the dry desert conditions....have fun!

Tahquiz. Its the former Palm Springs country club from the 1950's. Its now the muni course for Palm Springs. Its been expanded, enhanced, and plays pretty well. Its also cheap, on a relative basis.

I'm heading down in April and stay on the 17th hole of the Gary Player course at Mission Hills. That is a course I enjoy playing when I'm there. I will also agree with Tahquiz Creek. The two 18's there are significantly different in their layout. I prefer the resort course. I also like Escena and Indian Wells.

I played the Westin Mission Hills - Pete Dye course back in November. A good course and was in good condition.

I can second SilverRock - It's almost always in perfect shape and is a really fun layout tucked in the mountains.
Also check out Shadow Ridge (on Marriott property) or Escena. Shadow Ridge has a pretty fantastic practice facility, and the course is a good mix of long/short holes.
Escena is pretty reasonably priced, but the only downfall is they don't have a range (like Noel mentioned above). We usually play that one as we are leaving town - Right by the airport, too, for getting one last round in before an afternoon or evening flight.
