I’m thinking about going to Black Diamond Ranch in May for 4 nights and 3 rounds of golf. Probably a group of 16 guys. Has anyone played and stayed there ? What are your thoughts or what have you heard from others ? I’d really appreciate your input/ feedback.

I've played and stayed at Black Diamond Ranch multiple times in the past. However, it has been over 25 years since I was last there so I can't offer accurate info on current conditions. I loved the courses and the villas we stayed in were very nice three bedroom that were tastefully decorated. The Quarry course gets all the attention and the Quarry holes are spectacular. I enjoyed the Ranch course just as much. They have since opened a nine hole course, but, I can't critique that one. On my first trip there I was treated to watching Tommy Bolt getting some practice on the range. His swing still looked amazing. I don't know how recent the google map photos are but it may give you an idea on conditions.

I had the opportunity to play the Quarry Course and it did not disappoint. I’ve heard great things about the Ranch course as well, but I can speak to Quarry and it was superb.

Black Diamond Quarry is your typical Fazio course, with 5 GREAT holes on the back 9. Unless you hit it very well, play the Whites, even the members don't play the Back-9 on the Quarry, the carry to a few fairways is tough. The par 3 13th you need 170-180 over the edge of the quarry to the green. Hole 14-17 is some good pictures in the making. The Ranch is a good track too. If you can, slide down to Southern Hills Plantation in Brooksville, I'm a member there. Pete Dye track, Top 5 around that area for sure.
