2011 has been quite a year for golf - Rory winning the US Open, Luke topping the money list on both sides of the Atlantic, the GB&I team winning the Walker Cup, the European team winning the Solheim Cup.

But what was your favourite golfing memory of 2011? Was it winning the Club Championship? Or recording your first hole in one?

    Hi, Neil,

I was reading through the other sections ie USA side and see a lot of junior golf and titleist sponsorship is this available UK/IRELAND EU ?

My only concern about the whole thing was all these KIDS play at the country club ect ie parents have the money anyway

I would like to see some sort of golf programme that would help the kids outside the fence just maybe another WEE MAC/ GMAC

SURELY THIS COULD BE DONE AT ALL THE SCHOOLS there has to be another poor kid who could make it with a little help

Maybe all golf club manufacturers should get togather on this one .at local education level

At a driving range i used i saw about four or five kids turn up and share one hired club ( piece of junk grip torn old blade )and 30 balls i know where they come from and the parents will never be able to pay for anything like a golf club watched  the ones not hitting run up and down the range bays to see if anyone had left a ball in the basket ,sad really that the game has got back to the who has and who has not ,

I know the money bag is not always overflowing from any company now but to continually support the ones who have the money to be coached at there country clubs and  a lot of them don;t care they are only there for the stateous, seems unfair , if they are good enough they will make it if they even want to  ( i know life is not fair but it could be a little more equal )

The others who may want to but can;t even if they wanted to and could be  better will never get the chance .

Sorry  for the heart felt rant Neil

    Hi Thomas,

Great points that you raise and, as you state, it is very important that junior golfers are encouraged by all stakeholders (governing bodies, golf federations, manufacturers, golf clubs, etc.) to get into the game.

Direct sponsorship is always a bit of a grey area given the guidelines on the support of amateur golfers. However, we are proud at Titleist to be supporters of junior golf through a variety of initiatives across Europe, not least the Golf Foundation's "Golf Roots" programme in the UK.

There are a number of other programmes that we support at local level in numerous other European countries. These programmes take golf into schools and provide a structured programme for introducing children to golf and then directing them into the golf club networks.

Glad to see that Team Titleist members are as passionate you Thomas about supporting the game that we all love into the next generation of players.

    Best regards
