Tried out the new NXT Tour ball, first shot out of bounds, not the fault of the ball. Second hole iron to within 2 foot of hole, down for a two. Good distance and control. Thought with the demise of the NXT ball may take some time to find a new favourite but now think I don't have to look far.

Hi thanks for sending me the new NXT Tour and Velocity golf balls for trial. Played with the Velocity on Saturday, cold and windy. Really impressed with this ball. The distance was amazing, a good 15 to 20 yards more than any ball I've tried. No side spin, but on the green the ball came sharply off the putter face resulting in less control. Consequently I missed some short puts. However, a really impressive performance and for those looking for more distance, the one to buy.
Will try that NXT Tour soon and submit my comments later.

Hi
Played today with the the NXT Tour ( very nice surprise through the post aswell) they were excellent. Ball flight consistent and seemd to be much more durable throughout the round.
Excellent off the putter as always giving me a consistent roll, one of the reasons I always use Titleist above all others.
Only thing early on in round visibility of ball in air and landing seemed to be poor.
All in all excellent ball as always.
Thanks Titleist

Hi Adam,
It could be worth trying out the NXT Tour S in yellow to see if you think the visibility is any better if you are happy with rest of the performance of the ball.
Glad you liked them though and all the best for the season.

Hey Titleist
Received your complimentary NXT tour & tour (s) balls in the post last week a pleasant surprise thank you tried the tour (s) out at the weekend enjoyed the softer feel around the greens but found I lost a little distance I think this was made worse by the cold weather but will certainly try them out again playing wednesday & next weekend so will keep you up dated with my progress
Once again many thanks
Chris

Thank you so much for the Velocity and DT balls, I have used the DT solos first, unfortunately consigning one of my balls to the reeds at Royal North Devon at Westward Ho! on its 2nd outing.
Before doing this the most noticeable improvement from my old Sirixon AD333's was the accuracy with my mid irons and the fact that I could stop the ball on the green. I am a 28 Handicapper, and have been playing for 2 years and just on the verge of breaking 100, with these balls I have scored 98 and 99 in my 2 outings, mainly due to the accuarcy of my 2nd, / 3rd shot which has been leaving me with reasonable putting distances.
With putting, when I do hit the ball correctly and get a good run on the ball, it has good results. Today this resulted in holing a 40 ft putt, which gave me a 3 (nett 1) on the 413 yd par 4.
When my 2nd ball does eventually find its way into the North Devon links vast reed beds, then I will continue with these balls rather than the Sirixon's. Of course I will try my 2 velocity's first and report back.
Dave
Hi Dave,
That is really great to hear of such a positive experience with the DT SoLo. Would love to hear what you think of the Velocity once you have tried them.
I hope that the weather at RND is good enough to allow you to give them a fair test!

Hey I got two Velocity balls and two DT Solo balls. Iv got to say I love the new double numbers on the Velocity balls, I got double zero. I have been using the old DT Solos but I feel that the new ones have a softer feel on impact, they feel great with the driver. I have noticed i have been hitting my shots a bit further which is a good thing to see. The short game is is very responsive. I love the new Velocity and when they come out I will be going out and buying some. They have been adding around 10 yards extra distance onto my drives which is amazing to see! The ball flight is nice and consistent which I like. Over all I love the new balls and I think that they live up to Titleist's high standards. Both balls cut my score by about 4 shots each time so I am very happy with them. Thanks for the free samples.
Matt Griffiths.

Thanks Titleist for the samples. Tried the new Velocity yesterday and was very impressed with the feel and responsiveness around the greens, didn't notice any real advantage off the tee but that probably tells you more about me than the golf ball, ie Seventies 16 handicap.
Very durable, ball in pristine condition at the end of the round; always welcome.
Will comment on the NXT Tour as soon as I've had a chance to use it.

Thanks for the Velocity and DT Solo samples. It was a pleasent surprise to recieve them. Played the Solo - didn't lose it! Was excellent around the green, great control with my 52 FG Tour Wedge. Didn't find much distance increase on long shots or from my drive, that's probably more to do with me than the ball spec. Having played it I would buy this ball. David

Today I used the NXT tour s ball for the first time, I found the Drive gave me at least another 10yd distance, and off the fairway it went reasonable well, but found around the green, little lack of feel.On the whole not a bad ball, but not much improvement from my current ball if I am honest
.Many Thanks PJC.

Just tried the new NXT tour S. liked it very much thought it was very soft around the greens. chipped close twice and chipped in once and all that on temp greens. Looking forward to trying it when it'sd not -2. Also thought it drew more than before which maybe was no so good at first but I think it will ultimatly more controlable. To sum up I liked it - loooking forward to sunday

... well, there is a problem with your new Velocity ball..
First day out with them today, i was invited to play in a society comp and the rain was heavy and the wind very strong straight off the coast onto the course.
I'll tell you the problem... i have had my handicap cut by 3, and i had trouble carrying the awards for overall winner, nearest the pin and furthest drive home!!!
The course is surrounded by woodland and very steep drops, i didn't lose a ball all day and the furthest drive award i won was 240 into the very strong wind.. beating the previous mark by 47 yards! To say i like these balls would be an understatement! Being able to drive the ball that bit further meant i was popping the ball into the green from a bit closer than normal but the feel i got was great... keeping it low and out of the wind was the way to go and i was chipping it to within feet rather than yards.
Only 3 putts were down to my wayward direction, distance was always good.
Bottom line... depending on price i will be buying these ... brilliant balls!

Played on Monday with NXT Tour cold and windy but the flight and feel of the ball was good. Chipping was better and drives went well in the wind. In all I would say this is an improved ball.
Thanks for the balls much appreciated

Thanks for the sample balls. I used the velocity ball for the last 2 days and certainly found it was longer and straighter off the driver. Don't think it was just a good 2 days as it felt good everytime. cant wait till they are available.....best regards John G

Received NXT Tour and Velocity golf balls at the start of the week. Many thanks as honoured to be given the chance to have a go. Have just played nine holes with my sons and tried both golf balls compared to old NXT Tour. Man oh Man, the velocity were huge compared to both versions of the NXT, beating the new NXT by at least 20 yards off the tee. Didn't see much change in my short play, but also do not believe that miracles are possible. The new NXT were about 5 yards longer and gave me more grip around the greens than the old version playing identical shots. If the Velocity were retailed at a reasonable price, i would definitely go for them as the extra distance changed my club selection greatly, also i managed to lose both(GUTTED!!!) but kept the NXT so in competition play would definitely use them and the Velocity for non competitive fun
thanks again for the opportunity to try something new as it is very rare living in the Isle of Man

Velocity & DT Solo balls - tried both and found them both to perform very well around the greens for my 16 handicap game, which with my wayward long game is VERY important!
I did play straighter with them too although with my standard of play it is a lottery as to whether that was the balls or me having a good day.

I am aged 61 with a current handicap of 13. have today tried the velocity but found the ball a little too hard for my game. However, I had the pleasure in playing with one of our younger members who is a category one golfer (2.5 handicap) and asked him to try this ball. His first hit stopped just short of our 310 yard 10th hole. He also hit our 230 yard 16th with a five iron. He describes the feel of the ball on the club as solid and explosive. He also found the ball very good for putting.
Have played 3 rounds with the same NXT tour and it is still in very good condition. For durability I would consider this excellent value and would recommend playing this ball to every type of golfer .

The new NXT Tour balls were as reliable as the previous models and I noticed little difference.
The new Velocity balls have been brilliant. They have been consistently longer and more accurate than the Srixon 333 I have been using most recently. However, the wear rate seems really high. After 2 rounds they have been really scuffed which is in contrast to the Srixons. This is the only factor which would put me of buying them when they come out.
