It's purely a personal feel consideration to be honest - some people like shafts matched to their irons, some prefer a slightly softer shaft for those "feely shots", as Voke calls them.

I think you have made the right choice I got fitted for ap2's with kbs c-taper stiff shafts and have continued that through my 48, 52, 56 and 60 deg sm4 feel more confident with em having the same shafts in
