Hi I've been to the facility at St Ives back in November 2010 and was fitted for a combo set of 710 CB & MB irons and wedges. The service was first class and I've still got the clubs in the bag which is a first for me. However, at the time there weren't many shaft options available to try with the 910 Driver so we couldn't improve on my current set up.

I want to go back and try the 913 and assume that as the shafts will fit both the 910 and 913 I shouldn't now have a problem, am I correct?

    Hi Martin,

You are correct that the shafts for 910D2 and D3 are compatible with 913D2 and D3. There is a comprehensive matrix of shafts at our fitting centres that will suit any swing.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Neil

Thanks for your prompt reply, when will St Ives have the 913's in?

Should be the middle of October, but I will check that and we will put something on Team Titleist to advise when I have a confirmed date.

    Best regards

    OK thanks Neil.

  6. Hi Martin,

If you want to get seriously fitted, get yourself over to a fitting centre in the States. I also live in the UK, but the fitting facilities here are years behind the States. I'm over in Florida in October and have pre-booked a 2 hour fitting session with technology they don't provide to mere mortals in Europe,

Titleist, if you want to increase your business in Europe, give the amateurs the same service that you provide to the pros. We'll pay for it. How often do your tour titting vans roll up at private clubs in the UK? Rarely. My brother is a member of a club in NJ and your fitting vans regularly turn up at his club. Maybe money talks.

    Hi Steve,

Interested to read your comments in relation to the fitting facilities available in Europe. We have created a number of Titleist National Fitting Centres in the UK&I and regional fitting centre partnerships in Europe, all of which would use the same technology that is employed to fit touring professionals - Trackman, the SureFit Tour fitting system (including heads and shafts) and a selection of Vokey Design wedges.

A single category fit (metals or irons) at one of our national fitting centres take an hour and a through-the-bag fit will take up to two hours. This will include an initial discussion and evaluation with the fitter, shots hit with existing clubs and then a comprehensive fit to find the optimum specs for that golfer.

Naturally, there are facilities which offer associated services that may include a fitness evaluation or a biomechanical review of a swing, but this would relate to the improvement of the swing, rather than the fitting of equipment.

You are correct that we don't offer a service whereby our tour truck is available at a club for a day, but we would recommend that anyone wishing to get that level of service book an appointment through their pro at one of our four UK&I national fitting centres. Indeed, at our St Ives facility, golfers booking a morning appointment can have their fitting and collect their clubs on the same day.

We are continually reviewing our fitting network and looking for ways to ensure that we deliver the best fitting experience that we can. Part of that process is to take on board comments from consumers are give them due consideration.

Thanks again for the post and happy golfing.

Booked in on November 8th for my 913 Driver fitting, can't wait.

I'd been really looking forward to this for some time, the new 913 was clearly something special and I had my fitting on November 8th and have to say I was really disappointed. I'm currently using an old R9 Driver with a fubuki 55g x shaft and the fitter couldn't find anything that worked better and suggested that I stick to my old TM. The closest we got was a YS6 shaft which is hardly a new design and I'd used it in an old 905t years ago.

Now it could be that I wasn't swinging as well as I could but I was still very surprised that we couldn't come up with a head/shaft combination that could beat my old R9. The fitter was a friendly enough guy but I think he ran out of ideas, I didn't try that many shafts and they didn't have my current shaft to try in a 913 head. At the end of the day it could well be that the 913 isn't for me, let's face it they're not going to suit everyone but I'm playing off 8.2 so should have a relatively consistent swing. So sorry but I'm not buying a 913 with an old YS6 design that isn't any better than my 3 year old driver!

I too have had a fitting experience that could have been better.

The fitter was not really dialled into any of the upgrade shafts, and the dominant theme was, "just get one of the standard shafts, which one feels nice - that will do".

I'm a single figure handicapper, with a pretty quick swing speed... To be honest the experience could have been better. Appreciate it isn't Titleist employees were talking about here.
