    Dear Titleist

    I have now played 2 rounds with my new AP2 712 KBS stiffs and I was expecting, following a custom fitting with Flightscope, to be hitting the ball further. I was getting an extra 15 yards with the demo club but I am yet to experience any noticeable yeardage gain on the course. The shafts feel very stiff and I am cutting the ball a bit making me think that I am not closing the face due to this stiffness. It could all be in my head but they feel very different to my old AP2s with KBS Stiff. Are brand new shafts stiffer? Will they slacken slightly with use? Or could X Stiff have been put in by mistake?

    Hi Richard,

    This does not sound right - I would talk with your pro / Titleist retailer from whom you purchased the clubs and ask them to review with you.

    It is unlikely that there would be a noticeable difference in performance of the shaft from your previous set to your new set and the shafts will not soften with use.

    It would also be unlikely that the wrong shafts would be fitted - they should be clearly marked with the manufacturer's name and the spec of the shaft.

    As I say, speak to your pro / retailer and if they feel there is an issue, then they can arrange for the clubs to be returned to us for checking.
