Hi Neil,
We were talking over old times in the pro shop this morning as i was collecting Pro V1 balls for our Golf Clubs match on Sunday.
The Pro V1 is the choice for our scratch and handicap teams.
It stemmed from how long we had played a Titleist ball. As i started back in the 1970s and was the oldest there , the honour was mine.
The guys thought that my story might be of interest.
I started playing golf in the early 70's, and when i stayed with friends in Hartford Connecticut, my friends father, a keen golfer, took me out with him one Sunday morning.
The first ball given to me to play, was an American sized Titleist. The hole a par 3 over a pond. A tense moment as you tee up with strangers on a strange course.
You want to impress, i took the swing, and the ball sailed off the tee.
You guesed it. Straight into the pond.
For the next week i must have helped the ball sales in the USA, but by the end of the 2 weeks i was committed to golf.
Memories as vivid as if they happened yesterday.
Yes i now play the Velocity, so a long association with Titleist.
Best regards
Alan B
