Just been up at the Titleist National Fitting Centre to get fitted for a 913 driver as part of a Golf Monthly forum event. What a great day. I brought my smother hook along too, and after a few shots with my current cally, Henry the fitter from the Tour van had a think about what might work well and put me into a D3 with a Diamana +. That immediately got me flighting the ball better with great launch and spin and a soft fade and I could have pretty much walked away happy there and then. But we tried a few more shafts, and ended up choosing an Oban Devotion stiff flex which produced an even better dispersion and flight. After lunch and a factory tour, the club was ready for me and I took it home.
I have used most Titleist drivers from the past 10 years or so, but the 913 looks like it might be an outstanding club. The fitting process was great and I would encourage anyone who isn't happy with their current club set up to consider going up to the NFC. The set up there is very impressive and the fitting options and fitters great.
Thanks to Titleist and Golf Monthly for a great day.
