What kind of mix/combination are you thinking of? I assume it would be AP2 longer irons (maybe 3-6) and CB's in the shorter irons (7-PW)...

Reason I comment is because I have been thinking about a mixed set for a while. Currently play Mizuno MP52's and love the undercut cavity in the longer irons and the minimal cavity/muscle design in the shorter irons.

I have been thinking about upgrades and currently considering:

- 3-6 CB's and 7-PW MB's

Or

- 3-6 MP64's and 7-PW MP69's

Any thoughts and what do people think generally about mixed sets? Any improvements? Any issues with yardage gaps between the two different models, etc?

i was thinking AP2 (3-5) CB (6-9). i personally think mixed sets are much better as you can be fitted for each iron. for example i am a great short iron player but not so much with the long irons. as for the yardage gaps, there isn't much difference if any as long as you get the right irons.

im going from R11 blades to AP2/CB simply because there is more forgiveness and i get further yardage with them.
