For those of you that have already tried out the new driver or been fitted for one, it would be great to get your view and feedback on performance, likes/dislikes, improvements from previous model etc.

I am looking to get fitted for the driver, woods and hybrid in the new year when all are available so your opinions on the new driver would be great.

Hands down....a lot better than the 910.  I'm a taylormade convert and thought they couldn't better the 910 in anyway, how wrong was I!

I had a fitting on Monday at Celtic Manor, first proper fitting i've ever had and it was amazing.  Lot's of stats displayed but the fitter only tells you the ones that matter to your game.  I was most impressed with the feel of the new head, the sound is great and the way it pings off the face is so pure!

At first glance it doesn't look that different, but don't let that fool you, it's what they've done to the face and the weight distribution that is the key factor here...I was achieving around 7mph more ball speed (3mph more on off-centre strikes) and my spin rate had reduced from an average 3200 down to 2700.  This was leaving my drives all within around 20 yds of one another and averaging a 220yd carry.

Personally go for it, i can't stress how important and useful it is to get fitted for these clubs, trackman is great and the guys at the fitting centres really do know their stuff...I even had a ball fitting while I was there!

    Ash,

You must go for it, I don't know H/cp you are but fitting is the way forward!! I'm lucky as I know what shaft I need in my Driver so I have bought a standard club and now in the process of putting my new shaft in. To get fitted is great because like Tony says it may be the small things that will count like spin etc to gain another few yards.

    It's well worth doing.

    Regards,

    Michael.

    Thanks Michael.

I have been fit for pretty much all of my bag previously, but never at the national fitting centre. Currently play off 6 so I know I really need to get fit before purchasing any new metals.

I still play for the 909 driver & 3 wood and was fitted for these over 3 years ago. One of the main reasons I want to go through the full fitting process for Driver, Woods and Hybrid as 3 years is a pretty long time and I know my swing has changed/improved over that period due to lessons etc.

What setup / shaft did you go for in the end and what do you play off?

I'm currently thinking of trying both heads D2/D3 but probably favour the D2 at the moment, then looking at a 3 wood and 2-iron hybrid. Looking to get booked in for sometime in January when all models are available.

Will keep things up to date on hear but feel free to comment and let me know what setup you went for (especially shaft).

    Ashley,

I'm in same boat, I have been a titliest driver 'guy' for over 10 years now, first one was 975D. Been though then since, however saying this I stuck with my 909D3 because I liked it so much, so I have missed on the 910. I just bought a standard diamana shaft (blue board) from ProShop and up-graded to the Proper Diamana blue board through a contact who works on one of the tour vans. Luckily I did'nt have to pay. I love this club and the shaft. It's a Diamana Blueboard 63 x5ct in x-flex with 2 layers of tape on it. 9.5 in loft.  Always preferred the D3 models as slightly deeper face etc and lower launch of the face.

So now, again I have bought the shaft separate, and a standard club from the shop and in process in 'making' my new one up. I will say that the new one does look better at address for whatever reason. Can't wait to try it but just had an Op on knee so not hitting balls just at the moment.

Been of +3, +2, +1 for numbers of years now. If you need any further info just email me on here and we can chat.

    Michael.

Thanks for the feedback Tony. Great to hear its better than the 910 and I know that will take some beating. What set up / shaft did you end of getting in the end?

Like I said Ash, i've always been a Taylormade driver man, but got fed up with it becoming too gimicky and not actually making any difference to my game, the minute I went to a Titleist 910 it made a massive difference, I actually wasn't expecting the 913 to be a lot different but it really is.

Fitting is something you gotta do with this, I was so impressed with the fitting centre at Celtic Manor.  It completely flipped what I thought i'd get fitted for!!  I've gone from a 910D2 (10.5) with a 'Ahina stiff shaft to a D3 (9.5) with a project x 6.0 shaft.  The flight and distance i now get is ideal and I played my first round with it on saturday and hit 15 fairways....a MASSIVE improvement!!

  8. got my fitting for my 913 driver next wed (21st) hoping to see a vast improvement from my 2009 12" cleveland launcher

Hit my 913D3 today, at Crews Hill, Nth London.

Yes I know because its new and we are excited, we try not to fault it, but I just can't.

i play off 7hcp, but I know my limits and have always stuck with 10.5' loft before.

But I decided to go for a 9.5' D3 and it was majestic. I even tuned it down to 8.75' which is ground I have never visited before.

Just so easy to hit on a Diamana S + 62 S shaft. It seems to launch the ball with ease.

It may not be longer or that much longer  than my previous 910D3, but for sure this shaft is heaven for the 95 to 99 mph swingers,

and it does fly off the face. No question about it.

One Happy boy in Nth London tonight.
