On Thursday 17th July I was one of the lucky winners of the short game tour fitting experience at Wentworth golf club with Team Titleist. There was 2 winners via the sweepstake and also 2 winners from Todays golfer  and 1 winner from howdidido.

The day really was an eye opener and a great learning experience. I was intent on learning as much from the guys as I could as this really was a once in a lifetime experience.

The day started with breakfast and a chance to get to know the team who were fresh from spending 3 days at Hoylake for the Open championship and then it was off for a wedge fitting  from Aaron Dill Bob Vokeys right hand man and Team Titleist pro Ben.

First it was gapping and the team made use of trackman to get some stats but most importantly Aaron used his vast knowledge  to get the fitting just right. It was then time to complete the fitting with some chipping and bunker play until Aaron and Ben were happy and had got the right configuration of wedges.

Now the putter fitting with Paul Vizanko who is Scotty Camerons global manager of putter fitting and has fitted some of the worlds top pros was sublime in only a short time he gave me some drills to improve my putting and then fitted me with an amazing new dual balance golo 7 which I can’t wait to get and try out on the course.

After a nice lunch on Wentworths patio in glorious sunshine we went and played 9 holes on Wentworths par 3 course to try out the new equipment.

The overall day was great and the team-Aaron/Paul/Ian/Gary/Adam/Ben/Henry/Chris and anyone else I’ve missed deserve a big thank you for being so kind and generous with their time and patience.Nothing was too much trouble

I cant wait for my new wedges and Putter all custom/personalised to arrive and then get my handicap down a bit more.

Having never won anything like this before I would of been happy with a team Titleist bag tag (still waiting on that one Gary ) but to say it was a great day is an understatement it really was a great day.

Team Titleist were the consummate pros all day and ensured that we all had a great time.

To have the same personal experience that tour players get really was a once in a lifetime day and again thank you TEAM TITLEIST.

Wow, entered all those comps, and wasn't lucky on any of them. Great experience, very jealous.

Sounds like you had a great day. I've been for a fitting for Driver and Irons at Titleist as many others also have but never for wedges and putter. When you think how many shots you hit from 100yards in you realise how important it is. Hopefully your new gear will help you lower your handicap, good luck.
