I’ve had 714 ap2’s they were awesome irons, then I upgraded to 716 ap2’s which were good irons but I personally didn’t think they were are goood as the 714’s.
    I’ve now got the 718 ap2’s,
if you can afford them go get them!!
Without a doubt these are the best irons I’ve ever bought!!
    I love everything about them.
The look, feel, way the play / sound.
You will not regret purchasing these bad boys!!

Best irons I've hit. The feel and playability is fantastic.
  4. Gary, I've got 718 AP2 - PW, 9, 8 combo'd with 718 AP3 - 7, 6, 5. I went combo as I felt my previous AP2's (712) were weak at 5 & 4. So much so that I supplemented them with T-MB 4 & 3 irons.
The new AP2's are sweet. They look good, feel butter soft off the face and are consistent in distance, yet workable. The sound of the strike is particularly pleasant. They do have a strong loft on the PW and a gap wedge is available and worth considering. You might, however, prefer the slightly cheaper option of a Vokey SM7 (say 50*) to fill the gap.
The AP3's are also fantastic and well worth a try. They really fly and feel terrific, particularly in the longer clubs, which are also very forgiving and, whilst they are not as soft as AP2, they are not far off. The sound on these is also very good.
There are wide ranging shaft options on both AP2 & AP3 and Professional fitting is strongly recommended.
With either option, I can't imagine you would be disappointed - I'm certainly very happy with my choice.
    Good Luck

Yeah, big fan of them. Get fit though, the head is only part f the equation - Titleist have some great shaft offerings (a lot at zero upcharge too) so well worth spending some time testing.
  6. Beautiful Clubs!
It brings joy just to stand over the ball and look at them...seriously, they play well, sound good and they are definitely clubs you can work
Get fitted they will lift your game, this is the key to success

They play about 5 yards shorter than the game improvement irons I came out of due to different lofts but it is worth it for the control I gained. If that is an issue for you go for a mixed AP3/AP2 like Christopher above. Both clubs are top class

    You will love them!

  7. Haven’t played the 718’s but have the 716 ap2. They are a lovely looking set of irons and definitely fit the better ball striker as you get punished for Miss hits.

Forged feeling allows me control ball flight, previously fade but now hitting a baby draw at times.

Would love to upgrade to the black versions but can’t justify it was I’ve just regripped ready for the new season ahead.

Whatever you decide you won’t be disappointed, quality as always from Titleist.

Get fitted and get them bought.
    Much better than the 712s
  9. What I would do is to pop to your local pro or golf retailer to carry out a "test" fitting and try the new AP's and once you feel that you have narrowed down your idea fit go and get fitted as this will be a confirmation.
I do this as with the "test" fit I am more relaxed and able to test with my good and bad hits as I always feel a bit nervous and tense when getting custom fitted and as we all know that (well at least with me) that hitting new clubs on 2 different days can produce different results.
Good luck and let us know how you get on
  10. I can't see that I'll ever play anything else other than AP2's. Solid.
