I went to Craigielaw for my fitting buddy,
I kind of knew it would be the TS2 I’d end up with.
My 915 was d2, my 917 was d2 both fitted by Titleist lol
I gained 4/5mph and 15 yards over my old 917 driver.
Just the look going back to the black head,
The Feel, the noise off of the TS2 is awesome!!
I love it!!

They've been to Dundee a couple of times, at my club (Downfield) where I got fitted and at Balumbie in November I think it was.

As for expectation on fitting, will you get 30/40 yards, to be honest, I very much doubt it. I gained 15 yards carry over my 915, which was clearly visible in flight, my dispersion on course since I've had it has been ten times better than my 915, no doubt about that, has it been 15 yards carry on course, hmmm....the jury is out on that, but my TS2 is a bomber, fact !

Just always remember, a good fitter can't fix a bad swing, so put a bad swing on a shot, it's still likely to be a bad shot.

I've got my ProV/X fitting Sunday, and I'm a cynic when it comes to V or X at our level so I'm looking forward to the experience.

I went to Mark in Carton House for a full fitting last year, the results were unreal. Bring left handed I always used standard stiff shafts and only ever got fitted for my old cobra driver. I ended up getting a better/ more workable ball flight from the project x 6.5 rifle shaft in my 718 ap2 4 to pw. The big benefit was seeing the improvement when I had the clubs 1 degree flat. I gained 20 yards with a fujkura speeder 64g shaft in my 917 D3 and increased my swing speed.
Hitting all the different club heads, shafts and tinkering with different degrees was well worth the experience! The next time I'm going to go for a full wedge fitting!

Is there is a set amount of time for a driver fitting or how does that work?


Am open to whatever the fitter recommends. Of course I want to see how it compares to my current driver.
Most important to me is getting the optimum setup.

Do you then take the club spec to your local pro to buy or?
Hoping to book it soon.

Don't go with any preconceptions, only that it has to be Titleist of course. Let the fitter guide you through the fitting but ask questions and let them know of any preferences or concerns.

Make sure your swing is well grooved especially this time of year as the fitter can only fit to the swing you take along.

I'm making some swing "adjustments" during the winter - under the guidance of a professional coach I hasten to add - so it's neither prudent nor practical to upgrade my woods just at the moment. If I gain (or lose) efficiency or club-head speed, my fitting might be sub-optimal and my investment at least partly wasted.
This is particularly frustrating as there is a Titleist fitting day near me next week!!
All that kit... All those clubs...

If you're having lessons or making swing adjustments, it's probably wise to ask your professional for advice on the timing of your upgrade.

The thing that concerns me is,is a fitting like going to the range hitting ball after ball? On the range the first few drives can be bloody awful but then I find it after shuffling about or adjusting my grip then all of a sudden my drives are ace and I’m in love with my 917d2 but then out on the course I’m not hitting the driver constantly just once every 20mins or more and my drives aren’t so good anymore........my club doesn’t have a driving range that I can go to for a warm up first which isn’t great......

It's very likely that where ever they have a fitting they will have a range where you can warm up beforehand. Downfield has a range, so does Balumbie. The Titleist Thursdays they do at Gleneagles is on the range where there are buckets full of balls.

Key is to warm up gently and not blast 100 balls before the fitting. Hit some easy 7 irons and half a dozen drivers before you go it.

Don't worry the fitter won't bite and we all hit some duffs now and again...
