    Good morning fellow golfers,

I am after some advice, I am going on a golf holiday to Portugal in March. This is my first golf trip abroad. I am taking clubs, I have my travel bag ordered.

Just looking for some tips on some must have items that should come along with me.

I have the basics such as tees, suncream, gloves, balls & so on. Just trying to get some tips from people that have been before.

  2. Depending on where you are going, I find Jungle Formula Insect Repellent essential + Anthisan to rub on bites I do get - after all you can't spray everywhere!!
If you are particularly susceptible to being gnawed by gnats, you can get sprays from a School of Tropical Medicine which is more specific to the region that you are travelling to.

  3. Bring Rain Gear. Trust me on this I went on my 1st Golf Holiday last year. 2nd week in April and it hammered down rain 2 out of the 5 days.
Pack some of your golf clothing in the travel bag. Get a strong arm to protect the heads VIP. Towel around the irons aswell.

As I'm sure other members will attest to, Portugal is a fabulous destination. I've been twice before, always early May, and have never had an issue with bites. Supplementals tend to be expensive away from home so you're right to pack the tees, balls, gloves etc. The main thing is sunscreen, preferably waterproof (sweatproof) as it's surprisingly warm. The main thing is to enjoy it, nothing quite like teeing off with the sun on your back at this time of year
