Next Saturday opening day for us, it’s a 4 ball better ball comp.
Can’t wait to be playing off tiger tees again.

First medal of the year on Sunday. Off the whites and first qualifier for Order of Merit. What could possibly go wrong!

First medal and start of the Order of Merit today. What could possibly go wrong!

Played today, bit of a nightmare, 32 points that included 9 one pointers. Just couldn’t get going. On a brighter note there’s always next wek.

Spring Cup yesterday and I went out in 22 points and had a couple of issues coming back (2 no pointers) and ended up with 38 points. Being positive it is a good start to the year for me.

Nope - Winter League has finished and Saturday Comps are still of the Team variety (ie Texas Scramble, Pink Ball, 2of3 Stableford etc).
Summer Comps not up & running until Mid-April.... Medals start 1st Thursday in the month from April.
So I'm doing the garden this weekend - Hoping to bank some brownie points for later in the season!!
Got the final Winter Society Meet on Tuesday on a nice Links course to keep me going.

How did you get on?

Mine wasn't too good although we had sunny warm and light wind.

We started the medal round in groups according to handicap with the highest out first and the group in front were very slow on the front nine, possibly due to some high scores (a 20 on a par 4, they forgot they can now drop in bunkers or outside if the get a bad lie).

I missed 2 fairways in the round an one of those was a bad bounce off the hit fairway. Unfortunately I wasn't hitting my irons as well as I was on the previous Monday in the wind and GIR suffered as a result. But my short game and putting improved probably as the greens were a little smoother.

Overall a Net 6 over which was well off the pace as a 4 under won the day...

Had a wee non counter stableford at the weekend there, 36pts.. I'll take that with a blob on the card.

6th April for our 1st summer comp captain v vice captain.....

This Sunday was a pairs combined stableford but didn’t play in comp as a playing partner dropped out so just had a knock ready for the cup comp which is this Sunday. Currently having lessons which are a massive help and anyone thinking about them I would recommend.

No comp for me but a practice round with my son. Having a couple of lessons right now and am at that stage where my golf is either fantastic or complete cr*p!
