Fitting day at Wexford Golf Club

    Had a really enjoyable fitting today with Titleist product specialist Darren who as it happens is the ex PGA Professional at my home club. I had in the last few weeks taken both the TS2 and TS3 out on the course for a few rounds and had an idea which I was getting on better with wanted the knowledge and guidance of a fitter to give me the once over.

    Hit my own 917D2 with Aldila Rogue 70g shaft fairly well I thought.......until we started hitting all other combinations of TS configurations...........

    In the end the spec' I ended up with was a TS2 head 8.5 degree loft with a HZRDUS SMOKE 6.0 A1 setting...

    I actually hit the TS3 a bit further but dispersion wise it was the TS2 that worked better for me and minimized my left going left shot....

    Gains over 917 were approx' +4 or 5 mph ball speed and approx' 12 or 13 yards carry.

    I placed my order right there on the spot and now may wait :)

    Seem to think it was only a matter of time before this came to pass!!
    I've got the TS3 in the 8.5 & HZRDUS set at B4 (ie Flat lie, for the vertically challenged) and while it's misbehaving at the minute, (I strongly suspect it might be down to pilot error) I love the set-up and am convinced it's just a matter of time...
    Bet you can't wait - Probably be about a week...

    Hi JT,
    I can't get it quick enough now ha ha ...cant wait as I never actually got on with my 917 the last two years but my own fault as I didn't get fit for it. ... trouble is now I KNOW I'm gonna want the 3 wood also.

    I'm in the same boat - tried theTS2 fairway (bit easier off the deck) again in the HZRDUS and absolutely loved it.
    Will have to get a proper fitting but can't see any other outcome than my 3 iron finding a new home leaning on the garage wall and the fairway joining me on the course! After all said and done, Startrek had it right, Resistance is Futile.

    TS3 I was fitted for, on order also. May get Luke to see if he can find out a delivery date.

    Ah I’d say only today Luke, was fitted last Friday. Ordered from wexford golf club pro shop. Thanks.

    Was a busy day alright, I ordered a Scotty Cameron the week before after Darren was doing a Scotty Cameron fitting day. Don’t think it’ll be in until end of May early June. Then that’ll be everything in the bag Titleist.

    A new Phantom I'll bet - Which one did plump for... sorry, I meant to say which one did you scientifically determine met you specific requirements?

    PS I can see me going down the same Scotty Cameron road in time - Currently using an M2 Newport Select but hanker after a slightly softer and more mallet-y instrument.

    Yep I went for the phantom x 5.5 in a 34 inch, Darren was kind enough to let me have it for a couple of hours after my driver fitting. It feels so good, love the sound off it.

    Delighted that my TS2 arrived for the weekend....Played 18 Saturday and really struggled with low snap hooks.....Bad swings.......The 3 or 4 decent shots that I did hit, have to say were very impressive...Hopefully try to get out today Sunday to hit a few more with it.
