Well done for getting down to 8 that’s a great achievement.

If I was getting down to low numbers and was getting ready to upgrade my irons I would seriously go and see a Titleist fitting technician that will break down everything your looking for.

Also with the price of new iron sets these days I would want to make sure I’m fitted correctly and leave no stone unturned.

Maybe look out for a Titleist Thursday fitting event in your area? Where are you based?

Only advise anyone on here can really give is go and get fitted properly! Handicap covers the whole game, not just iron play, I've seen 10 handicapper's stripe blades but they struggle off the tee or around / on the green costing them shots. I also know + handicappers using T100's. Since the 735.cm's I used to order a mixed set of CB & MB's, but was fitted into AP2's when the 714's came out, seeing the like of Spieth using AP2's on tour made me realise that even the best in the world like a little extra forgiveness.

I've got the T100's which I love, during the fitting I hit the CB's as I love the look of them and surprisingly enough the numbers were not that different. T100's were slightly better but not by a big margin. Fitter said I could go either way but based on what he saw on the day he would suggest the T100's which I was happy with.

Ive been playing both MB, CB and Combo sets for years and feel you get the best performance from going Combo.

Why not order a mixed set ??? Short irons in MB mids in CB and longs in T100???? But getting fit is a must !!!!

Definitely agree with the previous comments about fitting as getting the right shaft, length, loft and lie are very important factors. The lofts on the AP1’s will be stronger than the CB and MB for example. I’ve played various iterations of CBs over the years, preferred them to AP2 (play off 9). Love the MBs though, they just look so nice!
